BMW M6 family gets new 600 hp Competition Package

BMW M6 is already a mean machine with its 560 hp/680 Nm spitting twin turbo V8. This is enough said no one and there’s always space for more power, right? Thus comes the new Competition Package, which provides a power boost of additional 40 hp and 20 Nm. This brings the total output of the 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology to 600 hp and peak torque of 700 Nm between 1,500 and 6,000 rpm. With the new Competition Package, the BMW M6 can get from 0 to 100 km/h is all over in 3.9 seconds (Coupe and Gran Coupe, 4.0 seconds for M6 Convertible)and to 200 km/h in 11.8 seconds (Coupe).

While the top speed of all Competition models is electronically limited to 250 km/h, you can extent it to 305 km/h by opting for the M Driver’s Package. The changes included not just to the engine tuning alone but the Competition Package also gets firmer springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, Active M Differential for further improve traction, steering with M-specific Servotronic function for more direct mapping and M Dynamic Mode of the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system for even sportier handling.

The BMW M6 Competition models also get exclusive 20-inch M light-alloy wheels (double-spoke 601M, bi-colour) and mixed tyres, plus black chrome twin tailpipes for the sports exhaust system. The BMW M6 Coupe, BMW M6 Gran Coupe and BMW M6 Convertible with Competition Package will be available from July 2015.
