Maruti Swift recorded highest sales in December 2009

Maruti Swift, hot selling hatchback model has achieved success in the market by hitting a high point with sales of 10,900 units during December 2009. Since its launch in May 2005, the December sales are its highest monthly sales. Initially Maruti Swift has faced a tough competition from Hyundai Getz and later on Skoda Fabia, Indica Vista, Punto and i20.  Earlier swift’s diesel engine was sorely missed but in January 2007 Maruti introduced Fiat’s 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine which improved its position in the market and helped to move ahead of its rivals. With minor modifications like crystal tail lamps and change in wheel cover design along with brilliant engine options the Swift uncompromisingly attracted buyers in desirable numbers.
