GM to bring Chevrolet Camaro and Chevrolet Corvette in India

General Motors India is all set to bring its popular models Chevrolet Camaro and Chevrolet Corvette In India. Both of the models will be imported in India as a CBU (completely built-up units) which makes these models very costly as import duty on CBU is very high here.The Chevrolet Camaro and Chevrolet Corvette models will be sold here through special boutiques in small numbers as company is not expecting heavy sales for both of these models at this high price.

Timothy E Lee, president, international operations, General Motors said that the import duty in India is quite extensive to sell these models through public buying. The company will have a boutique offering for those kinds of brands as theses models can never be the volume products in the country. Both the Chevrolet Camaro and Chevrolet Corvette models were displayed at the Delhi auto expo in January 2010, where both of them received very good response from visitors and car enthusiast. These models will possibly launched in the starting of next year.
