Pros : Best fuel economy in highways, good interior

Cons : Very poor service centres

I bought a cruze LTZ about 9 months back and completed almost 29000 kms.  I was earlier using Ford Fiesta and Jetta.  My experience with this car is good except attitude of GM's service centres.  Such bad service centres I have not seen in my life.  Fuel economy in Highways are excellent.  If you make an average speed of 80 - 90 vehicle is giving almost 18.5 km mileage.  Stability and breaking effect is very good.  One problem in highways is  pick-up in 5th gear when you are applying break for overtaking or for any other reason.  You have to come down to 4th gear otherwise it is very diffifult to get the speed immediately.  However, pick up in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear excellent.  You can drive upto 50 kms speed in 2nd gear and in 3rd gear you can touch upto 80 - 90 kms, still engine is silent.  One major issue is A/C when it is in AUTO mode.  It is required some attention in almost every 3 months though it is not costing any money. Clutch is also little bit hard and very sensitive also, however you can manage after having one week experience.  Adjustment in minimum speed of each gear is very good and it is reducing the clutch ussage once you get into this.

which car is better cruze verna linea soo plzz tell m which is the best car

    CarDekho Team |18 Jan,2011 06:45:04 PM

Dear User, We would like to inform you that, Chevrolet Cruze no doubt a fantastic car. The car is loaded with all comforts and excellent features. But, cost of Chevrolet Cruze is higher as compared to Hyundai Verna and Liner. Hyundai Verna is another better option as the cost is nominal, interiors are spacious , it has got low maintenance cost compared to Chevrolet Cruze and Linea. The service and dealership network of Hyundai is widely spread. Fiat Linea can be an option if you are looking for stylish looks and ample of features. But the only problem with Linea can be its low ground clearance and limited service network. Thanks

Dear Tom, I don't fully understand the meaning of your sentence. I have not written 17 ltr mileage. What I have written is a practical. When I drove this at 80-90 km/hour and 30-40% of the times I was in cruise control, really my vehicle's mileage meter ( a facility) available in Cruze) was showing 18.5. It was not a 10 or 15 km drive. I drove almost 510 km from Chennai to Coimbatore.

is resale value a concern in cruze ?

  • global |21 Mar,2011 05:27:39 PM

yes its a concern you can go for a Skoda laura rather than Cruze

    Nash |24 Mar,2011 05:09:22 AM

Hi, guys i m just planning to buy cruze ltz. i go for test drive too, but its sounds toooo much as this is a diesel rocket as u say. but i m really confuse in between cruze, laura and corolla.. pls suggest me from this 3 which is the best car to buy .. as i also not have a good review for GM

    Bhagat M |27 Apr,2011 04:58:24 PM

Hi Nash, go for cruze and u wont regret. After sale service is a problem with skoda and toyota too but chevy comes with 3 yr free service n that is an added advantage. moreover cruze gets more point in terms of milege, power and looks as compared to other too. so value for money is definitely cruze.

i m getting confused a cruze automatic or to buy a hyundia verna fluidic disel automatic or to go skoda laura automatic wich u feel is better please help me out????

    santhosh |19 Jun,2011 07:40:21 PM

Hi nikhil, All the cars you mentioned here is in diff price category. I think you cannot compare verna with cruze and skoda because price diff is almost 4-5 Lacs. If your budgets permits you can go for laura AT because it is having more safety features. looks and power, may be cruze is better than other two cars.
