XUV500 W10 AWD Review

The XUV500 is a mid sized SUV that has now received several refurbishments for making it more competitive in its segment. It is available in quite a few variants, among which, the top end variant is the Mahindra XUV 500 W10 AWD. The vehicle now has several new features, adding to its appeal. It is packed with an mHawk engine that can churn out 2179cc. The machine can reach a top speed of nearly 190 Kmph that is something admirable for this segment. The body format of the vehicle remains about the same, except for a few changes. It has an all new front grille with chrome inserts. The muscularly built vehicle reflects harmony in its external build. It stands for a height of 1785mm. Its length is good at 4585mm, its width is 1890mm, and its wheelbase is 2700mm. Internally, its upholstery is premium, while the seats are wide and comfortably laid. A range of expensive and unique materials together form the cabin, giving it a great atmosphere altogether. Lastly, the safety needs of the machine are fulfilled with a blend of conventional and advanced features. It has airbags at the front and the rear, and seatbelts for all passengers. Beyond all of this, it has a well guarded braking system with stern calipers. The suspension system is also premium, paving the way for a good balanced drive always. The build also incorporates technologically improved methods for better safety. It has the conventional anti lock braking system and electronic brakeforce distribution for the tightest safety for the passengers throughout.

Exteriors:

The front profile is enhanced with an all new grille that has chrome inserts. The headlamp cluster is broad and well designed, while its bonnet is muscular and toned, making for a more robust stance from the front. The sides are accentuated with wide fenders and a classy pair of alloy wheels. There are body colored door handles, while the windows are tinted, giving a cool aura within the cabin and enhancing the look from the outside as well. The roof rails at the top also provide a stylish appearance for the side profile. A key feature for this variant is the electric sunroof at the top, with anti pitch function. The rear end is wide and strong, making for a more menacing poise than the front. The tail lamps are large and well shaped. They are incorporated with courtesy lights and turn indicators.

Interiors:

The cabin has a black and beige finish, and this exudes the best atmosphere for the passengers. The SUV provides optimum space within, complete with all the comfort needs. The seats are wide and well cushioned with headrests provided for all of them. The front seat has an exclusive eight way adjustable function, further elevating the comfort for its driver. There are premium leather covered seats, a dual tone dashboard that has a integrated cluster hood. The steering wheel is stylishly designed and also provides optimum grip for the driver. The emblem of the company is adorned at the center of its wheel. The electric sunroof is the prized feature of the cabin, relieving all burdens of the passengers whilst seated in this vehicle.

Engine and Performance:

Powering the machine is an mHawk engine. It is run by diesel, and is aided by a 5th generation variable geometry turbocharger for the best performance. The drivetrain has a displacement capacity of 2179cc. Furthermore, it can generate a peak torque of 330Nm at 1600-2800rpm, and a maximum power of 140hp at 3750rpm. All of this is funneled through a 6-speed synchromesh manual gearbox for flawless performance. Altogether, the engine facilitates admirable performance.

Braking and Handling:

The machine is fulfilled on all facets, including its braking and handling needs. The braking system is equipped with strong disc and caliper brakes at the front and the rear, giving the machine the ability to corner and stop smoothly. The suspension is also premium with McPherson struts present for the front axle, with anti roll bars. The rear axle has a multi link type system, also with anti roll bars. The harmony of the drive is preserved with this. However, the car maker goes many miles further, blessing this vehicle with advanced aspects to further improve the drive stability.

It comes with a premium infotainment system, taking care of all the entertainment needs of the passengers.
