Finally the day has come when we are going to inspect the launch of fourth generation Honda City, which, for the first time comes in a diesel version. What makes it interesting is the fuel efficiency. The new City diesel is claimed to be the country's most fuel efficient car with a whooping mileage of 26kmpl. 1. The much anticipated New Honda City launch event finally kick starts.

2. Host is on the stage and the time has come when we see the fourth generation City in an all-new Avatar.

3. Mr. Yoshiyuki Matsumoto, Managing officer, Honda Motor Company is explaining all the generation and legacy of Honda City.

4. Over 2.2 million happy customers in 55 coutries.

5. The company has explained  this design as "EXCITING H!!!", which will also features the upcoming Honda's globally. The extrior design of the City is known as the Sleek Crossmotion, while the interior styling is based on layered Floating Cockpit.

7. Mr. Hironori Kanyama- 1998 launch in India, over 4.3 lakhs City has been delivered to its customers.

8. City diesel is the most fuel efficient car in India with wghooping 26kmpl of fuel efficiency and City automatic is the most fuel efficient petrol automatic in its league.

9. The New Honda City has recieved an overwhelming response and over 9,000 bookings for the vehicle have already been registered. Deliveries of the new Honda City commenced from today itself.

10. 58 percent of the total bookings come from 2 tier and 3 tier cities.

11. Diesel deliveries start immediately, while the petrol will start from mid February '14.

12. In 2013, the company sold over 1 lakh units in India.

13. The company has expansion plans including dealerships and development.

15. Available in six exciting colours- Golden Brown metallic, Carnelian Red Pearl, Urban Titanium Metallic, Alabster Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl and Taffeta White.

16. The wheelbase of the new City has been extended by 60mm to 2600mm, which offere more interior space to occupants.

17. The Petrol model is powered by the tried & tested 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine producing 117bhp, while the diesel model gets the 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine that develops 98bhp. Reminder- It is the same diesel mill that also does duty to the Amaze compact sedan.

18. The petrol engine is mated to either five-speed manual or five speed automatic gearbox, while the diesel model is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

19. The automatic variant is, surprisingly, more fuel efficient than the manual version. The automatic model offers a fuel economy of 17.9kmpl, while the manual one delivers a mileage of of 17.8kmpl. The diesel model returns a whooping 26kmpl of fuel economy. All the mileage figures are ARAI certified.

20.  The new Honda City has been introduced in 5 trim levels in both petrol and diesel (5 petrol and 5 diesel). 

Petrol variants - E, S, SV, V and VX - Only SV and VX are being offered with automatic transmission (CVT).

21. The new City features an automatic climate control and rear AC vents are also on offer. It also gets the 5-inch touchscreen display.

22. When it comes to safety, the vehicle gets the ABS with EBD, Dual airbags for both driver and front passenger.

23. The high end model comes equipped with 8 speakers music system and also features a reverse parking sensor. While, the entry level and mid variants features the 4 speaker music system.

24. And finally the shows topper the 2014 Honda City comes on the stage.

25. Prices are being announced, launced at Rs. 7.42 lakh for the E variant. while the diesel prices starts at Rs. 8.62 lakh for Honda City E diesel.
