Fiat India has recently added its Linea T-Jet to its official website, hinted at the re-introduction of the car in the Indian auto market. Now, the Fiat's marketing head, Mr. Sanjay G has given information that the company is planning to re-launch its flagship sedan, Linea T-Jet by June this year. The Linea T-Jet was the first car in its segment, which came equipped with a turbocharged petrol engine in the country.

The company had discontinued the T-Jet engine after the huge decline in sales due to the introduction of other diesel cars in the market at the same cost at which the T-Jet was launched. The lack of independent dealerships, not so good after sales service have been major reasons behind the low sales of Fiat cars in India. Now, Fiat India has opened a few dealerships and plans to expand its outlets by the end of 2013, which leads the company to think about the re-introduction of powerful Linea T-Jet. The Linea will be launched with the same 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 112.44bhp and 207Nm of top torque. The T-Jet engine will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The Italian car manufacturer is also planning to introduce the T-Jet in two trims - Dynamic and Emotion. Both the variants will receive some changes including the increased ground clearance. The Dynamic variant of the Linea T-Jet will have 185mm and the Emotion model will have 190mm of ground clearance respectively. It is also expected that the company might upgrade the interior and exterior of the car to make it look fresh and appealing.
