Volkswagen India that launched the hot hatch Polo GT TDI and GT TSI, is planning to launch the facelifted Polo in the Indian car market by the mid 2014. According to some media reports, the facelift Polo is under development phase and soon be put on testing. However, the vehicle has been spotted undergoing hot weather testing in Death Valley, US. The same Polo is also likely to make its way to India.
The front fascia of the facelifted Polo is camouflaged, which gives an idea that the model will receive some refreshing updates that includes a new bumper, newly designed headlights and a modified grille. It is also expected that it will also get an updated interior, which includes a new dashboard, an updated infotainment system and additional assistance systems.
The company might also launch the Ford's EcoBoost competitor a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI engine with new Polo. The same engine will also power the Up! hatchback and the company's compact SUV Taigun. The engine is expected to churn out maximum power output of 60bhp to 90bhp.
