Nissan Qashqai latest updates

Latest Update: Nissan has showcased its midsize SUV, the Qashqai, in India which could be launched following the X-Trail.

Launch: Nissan is expected to launch the SUV in India by December, 2023.

Price: Nissan may price it from Rs 35 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).

Engine and Transmission: The Qashqai is offered with the following powertrain options: a 1.3-litre petrol motor with 12-volt mild-hybrid tech and a strong-hybrid 1.5-litre petrol. Both units put out 190PS but with varying torque figures; 250Nm for the former and the latter peaks out at 330Nm. A six-speed manual transmission is the mainstay for both units with an automatic transmission being an option.

Features: The midsize SUV may offer connected car technology, built-in Alexa connectivity, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 12.3-inch infotainment display, wireless phone charger and ambient lighting.

Safety: It may have Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as lane departure warning, moving object detection, intelligent rear automatic braking, blind spot detection and more. Other safety equipment are multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, etc.

Rivals: The midsize Nissan SUV will take on the Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson, and will be a cheaper alternative to Citroen C5 Aircross.
