The Toyota Fortuner is higher in price as compared to the XUV500 by around Rs. 9 lakh and at the same time comes with more features and options than the XUV500. The power output in terms of horses is also higher on the Fortuner but the torque levels are more or less the same. The XUV500 comes with a 6-speed manual transmission whereas the Fortuner gets a 5-speed transmission. The latter also comes in 4-speed AT. Both the vehicles are equipped with 4WD. In terms of mileage the XUV500 has more to offer with an ARAI certified mileage of 15.10 kmpl as opposed to Fortuners 12.55 kmpl. The wheelbase and turning radius on both vehicles is almost the same and both can seat up to 7 persons. The XUV500 blows the Fortuner out of the water in terms of modern tech. It features a GPS navigation system, touch screen display, hill hold and descent display, glove compartment with a laptop holder among other features.
