June 11, 2013: German luxury car maker, Porsche has now announced to launch a special edition version of its flagship car 911 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this legendary product. The car will be launched globally including India in September, however only 1963 units of this car will be sold globally. The Porsche 911 50 years edition will make its debut at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt in September this year, while the bookings have already begun. The special anniversary edition of 911 will come powered by a 3.8-litre flat-six engine that produces massive 400bhp and touches 0-100kmph in mere 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 300kmph.

Description
Equipped with digital engine electronics the engine management system of Porsche 911 GT2 is very regulating and affording. light weight design of the car is always ready to give the vehicle a touch of traditional come modern design providing minimum friction and helping in building maximum possible acceleration. Dry Sump Lubrication is the technology equipped with Porsche 911 GT2 which uses a separate oil reservoir for the better functioning of the engine. Oil here after passing trough the engine goes back into the external reservoir directly, exhaust system of the car is even more appealing having a main silencer and tailpipes along with are made up of very ultra light weight titanium. Transmission in the car is specifically designed for the better performance to be shown for the passanger. One other important feature present in the car is Limited Slip Differential system, having some asymmetrical lock factor. This specific feature of Slip Differential system helps in providing a better control to the vehicle at the corners giving a higher proportion of torque while moving away from the rear wheel.
Offering 530 hp of power with its six cylinders, with a rear engine lay-out. Porsche 911 GT2 also gives a torque of 505lb.-ft. at the rate of 2200-4500 rpm. With a top track speed of 204km/hr, it is available in the market with a MRP of $ 194,000. Technically available with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) safety system, while considering the passive safety it is equipped with Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system. Moreover Bi-Xenon headlights also helps in increasing the safety of the car.

The car will be launched globally including India in September, claims ET. The special edition model, which is all set to debut at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt in September will be limited to 1963 cars only. Bookings for the car has already begin.
