Datsun Redi-GO Stunning Looks and Wonderful Performance
I live in Mumbai, the financial capital of the country. The city is known for its bone breaking potholes ridden roads with horrible infrastructure where people are always in a hurry. I was searching for a small car and shortlisted the Renault Kwid, Maruti Alto, Hyundai Eon and Datsun RediGO for that. I omitted both the Alto and the Kwid since both of them are low-slung cars with difficulty in ingress and egress. The Eon was outdated and I heard that Hyundai would soon phase it out from the market. So, the only option remaining in front of me was RediGO. Then I booked a test drive of the car and came back with a good impression. And what tempted me to finalize the deal was the killer price, stunning looks and feel inside the cabin. The swept back headlamps, high ground clearance, and the Volvo inspired rear design impressed me a lot. As you are inside the cabin, the visibility is wonderful with high seating position. The tallboy dimensions and the large wheelbase has resulted in enough headroom, shoulder room, and knee room. You will find enough features to keep you engaged in the driving including air-conditioner, audio system with USB and Aux-In connectivity. There are numerous storage spaces across the cabin which makes this car pretty practical in nature. Overall, the ergonomics are just upright. But what makes this car more interesting is the peppy 1.0L petrol engine which has enough power to potter in and around the city. Moreover, the provision of AMT is just icing on the cake. The engine and the smooth transmission can easily return 18kmpl in mix conditions. The ride of the car is very composed, thanks to the suspension which has been tweaked looking at the road condition of India. People who complain about cost-cutting should realize that it's not that easy to make a car as affordable as Rs. 2.5 lakh. More than 2000 kms on the odometer and I am still enjoying driving this small car.
