Kia Carens Clavis

The 2025 Kia Carens Clavis is a more premium model based on the Kia Carens. It features a heavily updated exterior and a brand new interior with premium features. The Kia Clavis will slot above the existing Carens, which will continue to be part of the carmaker’s lineup.

• The Kia Carens Clavis’ blanked off grille combined with the new LED DRLs and triangular LED headlights gives the front a minimalist look.

• While the side profile is similar to the Carens, the 2025 Kia Clavis features new 17-inch alloy wheels that are one size larger compared to the Carens’ existing 16-inch alloys. 

• The rear-end features new LED tail lights, with an illuminated LED light bar connecting them. 

• Even the bumper has been refreshed with a new silver skid plate and the reverse lamp mounted right below the number plate. 

• Kia offers the Carens Clavis with 8 colour options: Imperial Blue, Gravity Gray, Glacier White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl,  Pewter Olive, Clear White, Sparkling Silver and Ivory Silver Gloss.

• The Kia Clavis 2025 features a brand new dashboard with more features than the existing Carens. 

• The dashboard features dual 12.3-inch digital displays and a two-spoke steering wheel, both of which are lifted from the Syros. 

• The top-spec variant of the Carens Clavis gets a navy blue / beige interior colour scheme, giving it a premium look. 

• It is offered as a six-seater with captain seats and seven-seater with bench seats for middle row occupants. 

• Since the 2025 Clavis is based on the Kia Carens, it should offer good space in all three rows, even for six foot tall occupants.

Features 

• Top features onboard the Kia Clavis include dual 12.3-inch screen for the driver’s display and infotainment, a panoramic sunroof and level-2 advanced driver’s assistance system (ADAS). 

• It also gets comfort and convenience features such as ventilated front seats with power adjustment for the driver and automatic climate control. 

• Other features that have been carried over from the Kia Carens include an 8-speaker Bose sound system, a wireless phone charger, 64-colour ambient lighting and keyless entry with push button start.

• The Kia Clavis is confirmed to come with a level-2 ADAS suite with features such as forward collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist. 

• The rest of the safety suite consists of features such as six airbags (as standard), a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), electronic parking brake with auto hold and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). 

• The Kia Clavis is yet to be crash tested by either Bharat or Global NCAP. However, we expect it to get a better safety rating than the Kia Carens, which secured three stars in the Global NCAP test in 2022.

• Based on our experience with the Carens, we expect the Clavis to offer similar boot space. For reference, the Kia Carens offers 216-litre with all three rows up and 645-litres with the third row folded down.

• With all three rows in use, the Kia Clavis is expected to offer space for a couple of soft bags and a small suitcase. 

• It should offer more than enough luggage space for you and your family with the third row folded down. 

• The 2025 Kia Clavis retains the same engine options as the Carens, which gets a 1.5-litre petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel. It must be noted that the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine now gets an additional 6-speed manual transmission. 

• All the engine options are found in other Hyundai and Kia models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Alcazar. 

• The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol is expected to focus more towards refinement and a smooth drive. 

• If you want your Clavis to be fun to drive, we would suggest you consider the turbo-petrol engine that offers strong performance. However, like other turbo-petrol engines, expect fuel efficiency to drop down when driven in heavy city traffic 

• The 1.5-litre diesel engine is expected to offer a perfect balance between performance and fuel efficiency. Consider this option if you have heavy running as it offers lower running costs.

• Kia India offers the Carens Clavis in 7 variants: HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK Plus, HTK Plus (O), HTX and HTX Plus. 

• Prices are expected to start from Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). The Clavis is expected to be launched in June.
