Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton Car Latest Update
March 24, 2017: SsangYong has teased its new production-spec flagship SUV ahead of its world premiere on March 30 at the 2017 Seoul Motor Show. The SUV, codenamed Y400, is the successor to the over-a-decade-old Rexton. The Y400/second-gen Rexton will go on sale in Korea during the first half of this year, and internationally before the end of 2017.
Speaking of the current Rexton, Mahindra & Mahindra had introduced the Rexton in the Indian market in October 2012 along with SsangYong brand. It competes with SUVs such as the Ford Endeavour, the Toyota Fortuner, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, and others. The Rexton comes with a 2.7-litre engine, which is available in two states of tune – RX270 XDi (164PS, 340Nm) RWD and RX270 XVT (186PS, 402Nm) AWD. The former comes mated to a 5-speed manual, while the latter is available with a 5-speed automatic transmission.
