Updated Skoda Rapid Introduced at Rs 8.04 lakh
While many were just guessing the launch of the updated 2014 Skoda Rapid in India, Skoda has silently introduced the vehicle and has updated all the information including prices on its official Indian website. Skoda has removed several variants from its line-up and has kept only two trim lines- Ambition Plus and Elegance. The Leisure trim remains all the same, since it's a special edition.

In terms of features, the Ambition Plus model gets ABS, dual front airbags, Steering mounted audio control, a music system with USB, Aux-in, MP3, SD card slot and Bluetooth connectivity. While the Elegance trim additionally gets the projector headlamps along with all the aforementioned features offered on the Ambition Plus.
The company has also offered a leather package as a standard fitment in all the variants. The package includes leather wrapped steering wheel, gear-shift selector and hand-brake lever. Available in a total 8 variants (6 petrol and 2 diesel) including the variants of Leisure trim, the starting price for the base model is Rs 8.04 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Since it's more of a feature update given to the car, mechanically it remains the same with a 1.6-litre MPI petrol and 1.6-litre diesel mill, capable of churning out the maximum power output of 104bhp, 153Nm and 104bhp, 250Nm respectively.
