Mercedes Benz has always surprised its consumers and this time around, the German car maker will amaze its customers with a brand new mini-van, which is currently in the making. The new mini-van by Mercedes Benz will be identified with name of Citan. However, Mercedes Benz Citan is likely to be based on Nissan Evalia, also known as Nissan NV200. The company revealed the official sketches of its mini-van Citan in 2012, which were pretty interesting to look at. The debut of Mercedes Benz Citan is actually scheduled in September 2012 at the prominent IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hannover. The German giant has proudly given the tag of urban delivery van to Citan and will probably go on sale by the end of this year.

There are numerous reasons as to why Mercedes Benz has tagged Citan as an urban delivery van. One of the main reasons is the space inside. The new Citan will certainly enhance the sales volumes of van across the globe. Citan is a new name which is an amalgamation of City and Titan and is thoroughly developed keeping in mind consumers’ requirements. Mercedes Benz is known for high quality and superior standards and Mercedes Benz Citan will not let down in any way.

With the launch of new Citan, Mercedes Benz aims to gain about 4-5% of market share in the van segment. The head of Mercedes Benz vans, Mr. Volker Mornhinweg has full confidence in Citan and expects it to be a great success altogether. Another factor that will support Mercedes Benz Citan in being a great success is the drift towards the city vans and also the attractive price that would accompany Citan at its launch. Apparently, Mercedes Benz Citan will be offered in numerous variants, which will comprise of a crew bus, mixed use vehicle and a panel van. A wide range of weights and lengths of the Citan will also be offered in the market as soon as it is launched by the end of 2012.

Mercedes Benz Citan is strong and strappy mini-van that has been tested and developed keeping in mind the high quality standards of the firm. The van is robust as well as durable. On the other hand, the new Mercedes Benz Citan will also be successful in meeting the customers’ needs from sales, trade and service sectors. Till now there hasn’t been any official word about Citan by the company but hopefully the official announcement is round the corner.

With the images of Citan, it is no secret that it does have many similarities with the recently unveiled Nissan Evalia or NV200. Sadly, Mercedes Benz Citan looks like a derivation of Nissan Evalia. With the resemblance in looks, there is a slight possibility that Citan will adorn the 1.5 litre of dCi engine, which would be successful in providing a fine tune to Mercedes Benz Citan. The Mercedes Benz Citan price is unknown for the time being, but will be revealed as soon as the car is launched officially.
