The Lexus LX is a full sized luxury SUV model released overseas by the premium car maker Lexus. It was initially released in 1995, and it marked the company's entry into the SUV field. The model's designing was heavily based on the Land Cruiser SUV, which comes under the parent brand, Toyota. It is perhaps this brand's largest and most expensive model in the SUV segment overseas. Since its release, the vehicle has evolved across three generations, with the latest one introduced in the New York International Auto Show in 2007. It is now available in numerous countries across the world and is supposed to come in India as well. However, the launch date is currently unannounced. The latest generation vehicle is given with a V8 engine, and a welded steel unibody shell along with a full sized steel ladder frame. The same is expected to be given to the India-bound version as well. Its 5.7-litre can produce a peak power of 383hp that propels the vehicle to reach a top speed of 220kmph. A highlight of this vehicle is its superior off road capability, which allows it to navigate on rough terrain safely with utmost ease. It is equipped with multiple systems to enhance grip on steep and uneven surfaces. As a result, this vehicle is employed as the ideal off the road machine for touring and transport by companies across the world. In addition to this, it has a massive towing capacity of 3175kg. Some of the key outer features that are supposed to come with this SUV includes a panoramic glass roof, dynamic alloy wheels and set of LED lights. Beside its outer body, the inside of the vehicle is sure to host many impressive features. It is to have a comfortable seating arrangement along with premium leather upholstery. An advanced audio unit is also expected to be present along with numerous entertainment and communication features.

There are electrochromic, auto dimming inside rear view mirrors, along with outside mirrors. Further, there is a 120V AC power outlet in the cargo area.

It is paired with a six-speed sequential-shift automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT) for optimum performance. With this power plant, the SUV touches a top speed of 220kmph.
According to speculations, the vehicle should deliver a mileage of 5.1 Kmpl for city roads. As for highways, it would deliver 7.1 Kmpl. With both of these combined, it is expected to have a mileage of 5.9kmpl.

Based on the models available abroad, the vehicle is to be fitted with four-wheel power-assisted discs. The front gets 13.4-in discs, while the rear has 13.6-in ventilated discs. This vehicle is made with a highly rigid body structure featuring front and rear crumple zones, side-impact door beams, a reinforced ladder-type frame, impact-dissipating upper interior trim and a collapsible steering column for optimum safety. There will be automatic locking retractor seatbelts for all passenger seating positions. There is an additional emergency locking retractor specially for the driver's seat. It also has a vehicle theft deterrent system that helps to prevent any form of unauthorized access to the vehicle. There are rain sensing wipers for optimum visibility. The vehicle is also expected to get child restraint seat anchor brackets as well.
