Among all its available variants, the Maruti Baleno 1.3 Alpha is the top dog, the apex predator. It is powered by a 1.3-litre diesel motor which produces a peak power of 75PS at 4000rpm and 190Nm of torque at 2000rpm. This engine is highly fuel efficient and has a claimed mileage of 27.39 kmpl. Exteriors

As this is the top-spec variant of the Baleno, it comes loaded with features. It comes with projector headlamps with daytime running LEDs and black air dam along a pair of fog lamps. The rear end has LED tail lamps and a spoiler. The electronically adjustable and foldable mirrors are body-coloured and have integrated turn indicators in them. The door handles are finished in chrome, and it rides on 16-inch alloys with 195/55 R16 tubeless radials tyres. The A, B and C-pillars are blacked out and features ultraviolet-cut glasses which prevent the entry of UV rays in the car.

Interiors

When it comes to interiors, this variant of the Baleno comes with leather-wrapped steering wheel with steering-mounted audio and telephonic controls. The instrument cluster has a multi-information display which displays real-time fuel consumption, driving time, and how much power and torque is being used. It also has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which has Apple CarPlay connectivity, navigation and other features like MP3/CD players with AUX-In, USB and Bluetooth connectivity.

Comfort And Safety Features

Comforts features include tilt-adjustable steering wheel, remote keyless entry, central locking system, push start/stop, automatic air conditioning and height-adjustable driver seat. In terms of safety, the Baleno has front passenger airbags and ABS with EBD as a standard feature. There are other safety features too, like dual horns, pinch-guard power window for driver, auto-dimming IRVM, front seatbelt with pretensioners and force limiters, reverse parking sensors and camera, brake assist, anti-theft security system, child safety locks and warnings regarding seatbelt and door ajar.

It has a boot space of 339 litres, and the rear seats can also be folded in 60:40 ratio to expand the volume.
