Tata Motors upgraded the Safari recently and launched it with the name of Safari Storme. The front fascia is completely anew with chrome strip  right above the parted front grille where Storme letters are embossed,on both the sides are swept back headlamps. The fog lamps have found their place on both ends of the lower grille. The hood has been flattened to accommodate the design and a haunch has been added to give an extra flair to the muscular design. Safari Storme runs on new set of alloy wheel design and new running board. At the rear, the signature spare wheel has been moved below the SUV and it also gets dual exhausts. The tail lamp design has also been revised.
The cabin layout is akin to the previous Safari however the features are all new, the fit and finish has gone better than the previous version and the dashboard now has a soft smooth feel to it. The doors now do not close with a thud and the space is amazing. Three adults can easily adjust at the rear end.
The 2.2-litre all-aluminium engine seen under the hoods of Safari is retain to supply power to the Safari Storme albeit the Dicor has now changed to VariCOR, which gets a lot of upgrades in its injection system. The throttle is enhanced with the low-end torque The power delivery is smoothed and the the vibration has gone down beyond expectation all thanks to the dual mass flywheel. The G76 Mark-II gearbox used on the Aria is see with the Safari Storme as well.

The same 2.2 liter Dicor mated with the new G76 MKII gearbox provides for better gear shifts. The 2179 cc diesel engine churns out 140 BHP of power at 4000 rpm and 320 Nm of torque at 1700-2700 rpm. The Tata Storme has a “Best in class” spacious cabin in terms of headroom and legroom. The enhanced wheelbase of 2650 mm increases the rear legroom. The boot space of Tata Storme is 981 liters. The plush interiors done in a wood finish and high class upholstery add to the sophisticated looks of the SUV. The wooden panel is intelligently designed and makes it look subtle. Other improved features include Hydraulic power assisted steering, 4.1 synchromesh gearbox with overdrive, 5 link rear suspension with coil springs, Independent double wish bone front suspension, adjustable steering, foldable rear seats, best in class ground clearance, under floor mounted spare wheel, ventilated disk brakes, ABS with EBD, best in class turning radius and dual elliptical exhaust pipes.
