Land Rover Defender

Land Rover is all set to open a new facility in Sri Lanka to locally manufacture its vehicles. The Work on the project is in process and about to start in sometime. The reason behind this step is so to make vehicles more accessible and affordable to a wider market. Additionally, the company also plans to manufacture a baby SUV to be sold all around the globe.

Another one joining in the list of tuned cars is Land Rover Defender. The British car conversion company Kahn gave an all new take on the Land Rover Defender under the semblance of Chelsea Truck Company and the revamped version is christened as XS 90. The Chelsea Truck Company is one of the sub-brands for off-road vehicles of Kahn.

Land Rover has recently announced the initiation of their campaign to help support Road2Recovery, a campaign to help wounded service personnel realize their dream of completing the Dakar Rally in January, 2013. They also intend to raise awareness and money for charities like Help for Heroes that support the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded soldiers. This will be the first ever attempt by an amputated driver and co-driver in the Dakar Rally and will feature a 31 member amateur rally team of wounded soldiers.
