Unbiased - Tata Zest

I will come straight to the point as try to be as precise as possible. I am an avid driver and my review is comparable to other cars in the segment. Please note it is not compared to large sedans but <1600 cc segment. I never wanted to buy TATA but now I not only own one after too many deliberations but also highly recommend. The reason is as follows:- 1. awesome ride and handling quality - unbeatable in the segment. Power mode needn't ever be required. Eco mode as expected is underpowered and a big lag with AC but returns 18 kmpl in the city (you cannot drive with eco on the highway as its a drag). City mode is awesome for both city and highways - keep the accelerator on feather-touch and you will get a 20+. 2. Driven over 500 kms and seating is highly comfortable. I never felt so much at ease after a 500 kms drive (only one 20 min stop in between). Lot of leg and head room for passengers and interiors are welcoming even after you are used to the car (this is very imp, even a lot of appealing interiors get monotonous after a few months, this one is made with a lot of heart). 3. terrain - Take my word, mine was the only car which waded across a particular flooded Gurgaon street in the recent deluge. I have yet never hit the base on even the worst made speed breakers. On a drive through Himachal, the Zest was an ease. 4. Dealer and ASS both have been trying a bit more than usual (repeated confirmation calls from Pune asking if I am happy with the service). Notwithstanding the fact that Tata service centres are all over India. I have been getting exceptional behaviour (home pick up and drop for service).I don't believe how TATAs have made such a turn-around vehicle. I don't still believe I bought this car and am still as impressed as I was on my test drive, which I compared to Swift, Xcent and Aspire before I finally froze. To decide, I have always gone beyond simple calculations when its about a car. The beyond is an overall feel without reason. I deliberately cleared my mind of the logo, repute, information about after sales service, reviews. Just drive and check the spirit of the animal. This one was and is a winner. Way to go - TATA Motors.
