The cheapest automatic car in India, the Celerio Lxi AMT starts at merely Rs. 4.14 lakhs 1 Celerio AMT is a breeze to drive in the city. It has 'manual mode' too. 2 It has a well-packaged cabin, decent legroom, excellent headroom and a 235-liter boot. 3 The K-series engine has peppy performance and good fuel economy. 4 The suspension offers neutral ride quality & predictable handling. 5 Maruti has excellent after-sales service and wide dealer network. Relatively slim windscreen pillars give you an unrestricted view out of the front, and the side windows are tall and wide enough not to cause any real issues when pulling out of junctions. The window line does rise slightly towards the rear of the car, and the rear pillars are fairly chunky, although your over-the-shoulder visibility is still pretty decent. All editions come with a DAB radio and a CD player, while SZ3 and SZ4 models also come with Bluetooth and a USB socket, allowing you to make and receive phone calls on the move and play music stored on your phone through the stereo system. If you?re hoping for a high-tech colour touchscreen to access all these features, however, then you?ll be disappointed. The Celerio?s stereo does have a small display on it, but it?s monochrome and difficult to read, making it relatively tricky to change albums, or find the person you want to dial in your phonebook. At least the screen is flanked by chunky, well-labelled shortcut buttons, and there are separate controls for the Bluetooth system on the steering wheel. Sound quality is pretty tiny, even in the SZ4 model, which has four speakers. It?s even less impressive in the two-speaker SZ2 and SZ3. It?s also a pity that no form of sat-nav is offered as an option. For such a small car, the Celerio is surprisingly spacious in the front. There?s plenty of headroom and the seats slide back far enough to accommodate those with long legs. There are a few small cubbies dotted about the front half of the cabin ? in the door armrests, in front of the gearstick and between the front seats ? and the glovebox isn?t too pokey. There are also a couple of cupholders in front of the gear lever. The main door bins are rather narrow, though, so don?t expect to fit much in them. All Celerios come with 60/40 split-folding rear seats; you simply tug a cord, push the seatback forward and it drops down onto the seat base.
