Hyundai India originally introduced the Verna in India in 2011, and has got an astonishing response since then and has boosted their sales. Hyundai Verna 1.4 CRDI truly redefines the definition of styling. It offers sleek looks and great curves which ultimately demands attention. The eagle eyed head lamps and built in stylish fog lamps not only provide good amount of illumination at night but also are very stylish and adds luxury during daytime. The carcomes in 6 color shades namely Sleek Silver, Carbon Grey, Stone Beige, Phantom Black, Crystal White and Purple Fantasia. All these colors are very beautiful and add to the overall looks significantly. Some other exterior features are full wheel covers, blacked out door tapes, chrome finished outside door handles and front grille, LED turn indicators on outside rear view mirrors, etc all are very good additions to the car which very much enhance the beauty of the car and gives it a sporty profile. The overall length, width and height are 4370mm X 1700mm and 1475mm respectively. And the front track and the rear track are 1495mm and 1502mm respectively and the wheelbase is about 1570mm.

Interiors

The plush fabric upholstery gives a rich and luxurious look from inside the car. Also it supports an impressive luggage space which is way too big to hold all your travelling purposes. The interiors are also illuminated with a hint of blue color. There are many controls present on the driver side for the power windows and door locks also. The interior have also got a dual tone set up which provides a good sensation to the eyes. There are only front head restraints. Hyundai Verna 1.4 CRDI comes with a good Air conditioner cum heater, tachometer, electronic multi trip meter, spacious glove compartment, digital odometer.

Engine and Performance

The Hyundai Verna 1.4 CRDI has one of the best engines in its category. It has a 1.4 CRDI diesel engine which has a good engine displacement of 1396cc. This engine can produce an impressive maximum power output of 88.73bhp at the rate of 4000rpm and the maximum torque of close to 220Nm in the range between 1750 to 2750 rotations per minute. The engine also possesses 4 cylinder systems with each cylinder having 4 valves. Despite being the base model of Verna, it doesn?t really disappoint in the power and performance of the car.  It has an impressive 6 speed manual transmission. And this car is a front wheel drive. The standout feature of this car is its fuel consumption. It delivers 23.5kmpl as fuel mileage which is a lot.

Braking and Handling

Brakes are only good if you have a decent quality of tyres. Hyundai has installed tubeless tyres of the type 185/65 R 15 radii. These 15inch tyres provide a ground clearance of about 5.2m. The Mc Pherson struts along with coil spring as front suspension and couple torsion with beam axle as rear suspension ensures that the ride in Hyundai Verna 1.4 CRDI is comfortable and not very bumpy. The shock absorbers are of Gas type. And finally the front brakes are ventilated disc brakes while the rear ones are drum brake. The brakes, tyres and suspension are very well supported by rack and pinion steering type wheel.

Safety features

There are some very good safety features that are equipped in Hyundai Verna 1.4 CRDI such as front fog lamps, clutch lock system which doesn?t allow ignition until or unless the clutch is pressed which eliminates any jerk to car, an engine immobilizer etc. And the centrally fitted fuel tank which is very well protected to face even the most intense of crashes. There is central locking on the car. And the halogen head lamps produce quite a lot of light. Both the side as well as front beams is also there for the protection of car and passengers.

Comfort features

Hyundai Verna 1.4 CRDI offers very good and top class comforts and good level of convenience too. Certain features such as keyless entry with foldable key, electrically adjustable ORVM?s tilt function of power steering, vanity mirrors are just too much to ask for.  There is a very good 2 DIN MP3 player installed which ha connectivity options such as AUX in and USB is a very good addition. Plus the 4 speakers and some tweeters complete the in car entertainment. There is also an alternator management system installed on the car too. Some other comfort features include rear seat armrest, warning lights, power steering, power windows etc.
