29th-Mar-2012: Mitsubishi India added one more variant to its Outlander SUV lineup. The company has introduced a new seven seater Outlander SUV with proud. There hasn’t been any change in the seating arrangement of the five seater Outlander model, but Mitsubishi has just added a thin jump seat at the rear to adjust 2 more passengers. However, critics say that the less legroom in the third row is a bit uncomfortable for the passengers albeit the third thin jump seat can be easily folded, whenever one needs space for storing extra luggage in boot. Coming to the technical specs, the new seven-seater Mitsubishi Outlander SUV is blessed with a 2.4 litre of twin cam four cylinder petrol engine, which churns out 170 Ps of peak power along with 226 Nm of peak torque. The engine has been intelligently mated with six speed CVT gearbox, which helps the car to touch the 100 km per hour speed mark in just 10 seconds. The SUV has a top speed of 190 km per hours, which is totally impressive. The company has priced this 7 seater SUV in India very competitively at Rs 20.55 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Mitsubishi recently re-launched its Mitsubishi Outlander in India. In place of 5-seater variant, a 7-seater variant is now also available for those who are professional by the week and off roaders on the weekends. The theme of the new avatar is more aggressive styling and luxury. The major part of the alteration comes at front side. The Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) has borrowed many features from the Outlander GT Prototype. In fact, one would not notice any alteration at the rear side.
Mitsubishi Outlander is loaded with a 2.4-litre engine which would deliver 170-Ps power and 226-Nm torque at 4100rpm. It has 16 Valve MPI MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve-Timing Electronic Control System) with the displacement of 2360cc. The vehicle incorporates INVECS-III CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) type transmission with 6 speed manual and 6 speed paddle shift. The steering wheel of the Mitsubishi Outlander is Hydraulic Variable power assisted. With the help of the innovative engine technology, the SUV can touch a top speed of 190 km/h and the minimum turning radius is 5.3 meters. Mitsubishi Outlander is provided with front McPherson coil springs with stabilizer bar and rear Multi-link coil springs with Stabilizer Bar that ensure smooth riding.
The front face of Mitsubishi Outlander is totally changed by the company and it is made to look very sporty. The front face now is sleeker but aggressive. The front grille comes in jet fighter style and has been taken from Lancer Evo. Apart from that the front bumper, roofrails and hood are modified completely. The upgraded headlamp cluster is more stylish than before and is integrated with turn indicators. The outside rear view mirrors are also fitted with integrated turn indicators. According to the company officials, the new Mitsubishi Outlander is available in seven colour option.
The new Mitsubishi Outlander appears to be amongst the best cars in respect of the exterior appearance. Halogen with high intensity discharge capacity is used in the headlamps with washers for a clear vision, it has anti-pinch power window that is laminated with green windshield glasses to make it look classy. Above all, on the upper front of the Outlander rear deflector with high mount LED stop lamp is given to air down the rear windows of SUVs and to keep the windows clear of craps. Roof rails give it a tough look.

Seats of the new Mitsubishi Outlander are in luxurious beige leather. The chauffer's seat is easily adjustable with the automatic adjust function and can be folded fully. The backrests of all new Mitsubishi can also be adjusted individually, and can also be split in a proportion that can help place more luggage in case need be.
