Maruti has been in news for some time now and has been planning to launch the much-awaited Maruti Jimny, an entry-level SUV in India since a long time. The company's chief was quoted saying that the Jimny is to be driven in India due to pathetic performance of its Maruti Gypsy model. The moment of truth has arrived for Maruti as bring in India, Maruti Jimny to grab a decent amount of market share in the SUV segment since SUV sales is growing rapidly whether it is a luxury SUV or an ordinary one. The SUV, to be positioned between Maruti Gypsy and Grand Vitara, has to compete with the market leader in SUV segment, Mahindra, if launched. Maruti Jimny was displayed at the Auto Expo held in the year 2004 and widely appreciated due to its robust look and off-roading capacity.
