Much Spacious in segment, Luxurious
Hyundai India, the second largest passenger carmaker in the country is doing well in terms of sales and they have a decent market share as well. However, the automaker hasn't launched any mass appeal vehicle after its entry level car Hyundai Eon back in October 2011, their last vehicle launched in the country was the D segment sedan Hyundai Elantra.
Hyundai Australia is all set to bring the Hyundai i30 to the country by early 2013. This new model will be offered in two trims namely; Hyundai i30 Active and Elite. The new i30 petrol version is to house the 1.6-litre GDi engine that will churn out a respectable 133bhp and 164Nm of peak torque. The diesel version on the other hand offers 126bhp with 260Nm of peak torque. Both the engine versions will have a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission option. The automatic gearbox gets the sequential shift mode.
Hyundai has received three awards at the second edition of the Automotive Brand Contest, organised by the German Design Council. The New Generation i30 won ‘Best Interior’ and ‘Best Exterior’, while the ‘Best Concept’ title was awarded to the i-oniq show car. Both models were designed in Rüsselsheim, Germany, by the European team based at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre.
