Volkswagen India has launched the facelifted version of its stunning sedan model, Jetta. It is available in three trim levels of which, Volkswagen Jetta 2.0L TDI Highline is a top end diesel variant in this lineup. This vehicle underwent some major changes in terms of interiors and exteriors as well. It features a new front radiator grille with three slats that are garnished with chrome. The bumper is slightly tweaked and the newly designed fog lamp enclosures gives it a refreshing look. No changes are made to its side profile, while its rear end looks stylish with the modified tail light cluster. Coming to interiors, it is equipped with a new flat bottom steering wheel and the infotainment system is also upgraded to provide the best in-car entertainment to its occupants. The car maker has powered this trim with a 2.0-litre diesel motor that is coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission gear box. It is capable of producing 138.1bhp power in combination with torque output of 320Nm. Meanwhile, it comes loaded with many security features for the protection of its passengers. Some of these include anti lock braking system, electronic stability control, six airbag system, fatigue detection system, engine immobilizer and many others in the list. With all these new features, this sedan is sure to catch attention of a number of buyers.

Exteriors:

The modifications to its exteriors are quite noticeable and also gives it a more attractive look. The highlight in its front fascia is the redesigned radiator grille, which features three horizontal slats that gets a neat chrome finish. At the center of this grille, the company's logo is also embossed. It is flanked by a large headlight cluster that is integrated with bi-xenon headlamps. Moreover, it also includes turn indicators as well as LED day time running lights. The revamped bumper is painted in body color and fitted with a new pair of fog lamps. The major change inside is the new flat bottomed three spoke steering wheel, which features audio and cruise control switches. The two toned dashboard is equipped with square shaped air vents, center console and an illuminated instrument cluster. It is incorporated with well cushioned seats that are covered with premium leather upholstery. The driver’s seat has the electrically adjustment function, while the rear one comes with 60:40 folding facility. The front seat features a center armrest with storage box and aspects like gear shift knob, hand brake grip as well as steering wheel are wrapped with fine leather. Apart from these, the cabin also includes sun glass holder, rear center armrest with two cup holders, door trim pockets and a lockable glove box compartment in which, many small things can be stored.

This diesel motor is cleverly mated with a six speed manual transmission gear box, which allows it to attain a maximum speed of 210 Kmph that is quite remarkable for this segment. At the same time, it can cross the speed barrier of 100 Kmph in close to 12 seconds from a standstill.

Braking and Handling :

The braking mechanism of this Volkswagen Jetta 2.0L TDI Highline is quite advanced and it is further augmented by ABS along with brake assist and electronic differential lock (EDL). Its all the wheels are fitted with a set of disc brakes. It also comes with anti slip regulation system that helps in handling the sedan on slippery roads. On the other hand, it has a rack and pinion based power steering system, which is tilt and telescopic adjustable. It also has some other input options like an Aux-in socket, Bluetooth connectivity, an adapter cable for connecting some external multimedia source along with SD card reader as well. It is also equipped with a mobile device interface MEDIA-IN adapter cable in glove box compartment. Apart from these, it is bestowed with 12-way electrically adjustable driver seat with proper lumbar support, front and rear park distance control with acoustic warning, rain sensing wipers, auto dimming interior mirror, front reading lights and many other such aspects.

Safety Features:

This Volkswagen Jetta 2.0L TDI Highline variant has many innovative protective features, which includes central locking system with remote control folding keys, an advanced electronic engine immobilizer along with engine and transmission guard, hill hold control and brake pad wear indicator.
