Toyota Camry soon start manufacturing in India

Leading car manufacturer Toyota’s famous sedan ‘Toyota Camry’ soon will start manufacturing in India. Currently the Toyota Camry is imported from Japan.  Toyota is planning to launch many new models in India like famous sedan ‘Camry’, SUV ‘Toyota Fortuner’ and Land Cruiser. Toyota Camry will be manufactured in Bangalore in companies manufacturing unit.

By manufacturing Toyota Camry in India the car will be cheaper by huge margin. We are contemplating local assembling for Camry depending on volumes. It is one of our flagship products and we are selling in excess of 500 cars per year,” says Sandeep Singh, TKM Deputy Managing Director (Marketing).


Toyota is operating in India since more then a decade and now company is planning to launch its models more strategically. According to TKM‘s MD Hiroshi Nakagawa company is planning to launch a ‘strategic small car’. Company would also utilize Indian talent for product development,” added TKM MD Hiroshi Nakagawa.
