Most probably it’s the 120 PS, 320 Nm Fiat Sourced 1.6-L MultiJet

The much anticipated Maruti’s Compact SUV, the SX4 S-Cross is yet again caught on camera and this time it is badged with a ‘1.6’ moniker on the rear. This could indicate that either it will be getting Suzuki’s 1.6 litre petrol or 1.6 litre Fiat sourced diesel, as both these are offered in UK market.

Both these motors are adequately powerful enough to take on the competition from the likes of Duster and Ecosport. On the petrol front, the UK spec car produces 118.4 Bhp and 156 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual and optional CVT. While the diesel has same power figures as petrol however, it produces a peak torque of 320 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The SX4 S-Cross will be produced at the company's Manesar plant. And like Maruti’s rest of the line-up, it will also get the V, V+, Z and so on variants.

Dimensionally, the UK spec car is 4,300 mm long, 1765 mm wide, 1565 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. And it is expected that Maruti will not be compromising on these for the tax exemptions, leading its price to be near-about Duster.
