    • The Tata Tigor 2025  is the carmaker’s sub-4 metre sedan which has been on sale since 2017. It shares its underpinning with the Tiago hatchback and is known for its solid build quality.

    • Tata Motors has given minor tweaks to the 2025 Tigor’s design in the form of a tweaked grille and LED headlights. It continues with the LED DRLs mounted on the bumper and dual-tone alloys. The Tata Tigor is still a good looking car despite its age.

    • Inside, the 2025 Tata Tigor’s dashboard has been updated with a new brown / off-white colour scheme and a 2-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated Tata logo. It can accommodate three reasonably sized adults with decent kneeroom in the back seat.

    • Top features on the 2025 Tata Tigor include a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, front seat armrests, a 6-speaker sound system and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

    • The Tata Tigor is offered with two engine options: a 86PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 73.5 PS 1.2-litre CNG, both paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

    Tata Tigor price

Tigor has 14 variants from ₹5.55L across petrol and CNG, in MT and AMT — Tata's compact sedan with proper boot space. XM (₹5.55L) handles your daily commute with dual airbags, ABS and rear parking sensors — enough safety for tight-spot city driving. XT (₹6.28L) adds infotainment, power windows and steering controls so stop-and-go traffic feels less taxing. XZ (₹6.83L) is the real step up — the 17.78cm touchscreen with Apple CarPlay ends the phone-mount habit, LED headlamps make late-evening drives less straining and the rear parking camera takes the stress out of multi-storey parking. XZ Plus Lux (₹7.83L) tops it off with the 360° camera and automatic climate for buyers who want the cabin to feel premium. Most buyers land at XZ (₹6.83L) — touchscreen with CarPlay, LED headlamps and ESP — without paying ~₹1L extra for XZ Plus Lux's 360° camera and auto climate.

    Tata Tigor expert overview

    CarDekho Experts
Tigor's 4-star safety rating and the value for money aspect is hard to ignore. CNG available with most variants and with an AMT transmission gives customers more choice. However, the drive experience feels dated when compared to the competition.

The Tigor is Tata Motors’ sub-4 metre sedan, mainly known for its 4-star safety rating from Global NCAP. It shares its platform with the Tiago hatchback and should be in your consideration if you’re eyeing a decently spacious sub-4-metre sedan with a practical CNG option.

The Tata Tigor first went on sale in 2017 and got a mid-life update in 2020 during its BS6 update. In 2025, Tata Motors made minor changes to keep up with the times. Despite its age, I would say the Tata Tigor has aged gracefully and doesn’t look dated in front of modern rivals.

    Tata Tigor Front

Its fascia features a sleek grille with contrasting silver-coloured elements for a sharp look. The addition of LED projector headlights gives it a modern look. Lower down, the bumper gets plenty of cuts and creases and comes with halogen fog lamps as well as LED DRLs.

    Tata Tigor Side

The side profile hasn’t seen many changes ever since the Tigor’s launch. We feel the integration of the boot has been done in a clean manner and doesn’t look like an extra addition to a hatchback. Also, the 15-inch dual-tone alloys give it a purposeful stance, and splashes of chrome give it some bling.

At the rear, the Tigor gets LED tail lamps with clear lenses, giving it a unique look. There is a thick chrome strip connecting the tail lamps that round off the overall design.

    Tata Tigor Shark Fin Antenna

You can buy the Tata Tigor in five colour options: Supernova Copper, Meteor Bronze, Arizona Blue, Daytona Grey and Pristine White. I personally would recommend the Supernova Copper and Arizona Blue for their rich finish.

There’s no getting away from the fact that the Tata Tigor is getting old when you step inside the cabin. Yes, the recent MY2025 update saw the addition of the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system (largest in its segment) and a 2-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated logo. But these two elements don’t really help with the fact that the Tigor requires an update.

    Tata Tigor Cabin

The dashboard is predominantly finished in hard plastics, which are of good quality. While fit and finish are consistent for most of the parts, some areas lower down in the dashboard could’ve been better. That said, the brown and beige colour scheme does give the interior a unique vibe.

As for space, the Tata Tigor can fit four occupants in decent comfort. Two six-footers can manage to sit back to back, but anyone taller than that and legroom will be a tad tight. Also, the rear seat is best for two occupants and a kid, considering the cabin’s width is on the narrower side.

    Features

The Tata Tigor checks most of the boxes in this department. Highlights include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, a crisp-sounding 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, cruise control, keyless entry with push button start and auto-folding ORVMs.

    Tata Tigor 10.25-inch Touchscreen

While it would satisfy most users, rivals offer a tad more niceties in the form of a wireless phone charger and a sunroof.

The Tata Tigor secured a 4-star safety rating from Global NCAP back in 2021.

    Tata Tigor Dual-front Airbags

It comes with safety features such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

While it’s a decent amount of kit, rivals have set the bar high with six airbags as standard and even a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The Tata Tigor offers a boot space of 419 litres, which is one of the largest in its segment. It can comfortably accommodate one small and one medium-sized suitcase with enough space for some soft bags.

    Tata Tigor Boot Space

Notably, if you opt for the CNG variants, you don’t have to compromise much on boot space, courtesy of Tata’s twin-cylinder CNG tech.

The Tata Tigor is offered with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with an optional CNG kit. You can check out the detailed specifications here:

    Tata Tigor AMT

The Tata Tigor offers satisfactory performance for most users in town. It’s a car that will take you from point A to point B in decent comfort. But if you want something with more spirited performance, then the Tigor might not be for you. Highway performance is average, and you might need to work the engine hard to execute an overtake or climb up slopes, especially with a full load.

But one unique aspect the Tigor offers is the availability of CNG with the AMT option. This blends lower running costs with convenience.

    CarDekho Recommends

    • If you just want a basic car for the city, don’t need any fancy features and don’t wish to put aftermarket accessories on your vehicle, then the XT variant is a good option. It covers all basics and has a basic sound system too.

    • The mid-spec XZ variant is the most value-for-money variant in the lineup. It adds important modern-day features, has better styling and critical electronic safety features too, making it a balanced no-compromise package. It also gets the automatic (AMT) option for the CNG powertrain for people who want convenience and low running costs.

    • The XZ+ and XZ+ Lux can be picked if you want a more premium experience.

Best For First Time Car Buyers.
Tata Tigor Xz our first car! It was during the intial cars when Infotainment screens were introduced. However, after 1 year, Tata tigor Increased their display size of Infotainment which was disappointing as it could have provided it in a bigger size from the beginning itself when it introduced the Tata tigor in the market. So here's the Review. Trust me its very Reliable and Strong and performance wise Its best of best.
