July 30, 2014: Fiat continues to tease its Avventura Crossover and as per the media reports, the company will launch this CUV (Contemporary-Urban-Vehicle) in September. First showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, the vehicle is put against the likes of Cross Polo and Toyota Etios Cross. Fiat Avventura comes with a front wheel drive system. It features adequate cladding along with larger wheels and roof rails, higher ground clearance, muscular and aggressive looks. Its rear doors open horizontally. Fiat India limited has took everyone by surprise at the Indian Auto Expo 2014 by unveiling its compact crossover model. This latest model is christened as Fiat Avventura and it has made its global debut at New Delhi, India. This new model is built on the Fiat Punto model platform and it is equipped with a rough road kit. The front facade of this sub 4 meter crossover is completely unique, thanks to the smoked style headlight cluster with projectors and the the adventurous bumper that gives it a rugged look. Even the interiors of this crossover are quite enterprising as the company has given it an all black color scheme and accentuated it with orange inserts. This is a brand new vehicle from Fiat India, which is truly devoted for those individuals in urban areas with an adventurous lifestyle. To start with the exteriors, this newly unveiled model of Fiat Avventura comes with an orange exterior paint and comes fitted with a black colored road kit. The front profile of this crossover comes with a shiny black colored radiator grille and with a dual colored bumper fitted with a cladding that resembles a sports utility vehicle. In addition to this, the company has improved the ground clearance to 200mm, which adds to its rugged look. The side profile of this crossover gets the design cues of the Punto hatch, but the improved ground clearance along with the black colored fenders, side moldings and claddings gives it an SUV look. The most attractive part of the side profile is the dual colored alloy wheels and the gun metal garnished door handles. The rear profile of this crossover is accompanied with a spare wheel that gives it an adventurous crossover look.
When it comes to the interior cabin, you can notice that the interiors have been done up with all black color scheme, is complimented by the orange inserts. The cockpit comes with an attractive central console with a glossy black finish on top. The three spoke steering wheel is wrapped in leather upholstery with contrast orange stitching. The cockpit is fitted with sport seats that have integrated headrest and they come with fabric covers. The interiors of this crossover have been equipped with number of features including AC unit, music system, advanced instrumental cluster and many more. However, the actual production version might get extra set of features, which will be thrilling for the customers. On the other hand, this crossover is learned to have been equipped with the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel motor that comes with an ability to produce 90Bhp of maximum power, while generating 209Nm of peak torque. This power packed engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that delivers the torque output to the front wheels. Fiat India will look to introduce this vehicle in the sub-4-meter segment, where it will be competing with the upcoming Toyota Etios Cross and Maruti SX4 S Cross and the prevalent Volkswagen Polo Cross. There is no word from the company regarding the launch date of this vehicle but it is expected to arrive by the end of this year 2014.
Some of the rumors suggest that this model will be available with two petrol and one diesel engine options. The diesel version will be equipped with a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder, diesel that has the ability to return a peak mileage of about 20.3 Kmpl. The petrol version of this crossover is going to be fitted with 1.2-litre petrol power plant that is capable of producing 15.2 Kmpl of mileage. On the other hand, the powerful 1.4-litre petrol mill, which is already powering the Fiat Punto hatch can return a peak mileage of about 14.6 Kmpl, which is rather good.
This yet to be launched Fiat Avventura comes with a rugged body style. The company has managed to give it a perfect finish that makes it look trendy and eye-catching. The interiors of this Fiat Avventura have been done up excellently with a dual tone color scheme. Although, the company has borrowed the interiors of the Punto hatch model, it gives you a fresh new feel thanks to the new color scheme that is complimented by the orange inserts. The company has not disclosed anything related to the internal measurements of this crossover. However, as it is being built on the Punto hatch series, so we can expect decent cabin space with a good amount of luggage storage as well.
According to the speculations, this compact crossover is going to be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. One of the petrol version is expected with a 4-cylinder, 1.4-litre, Fire petrol mill that comes with a total displacement capacity of 1368cc. this engine is integrated with a Multi-point fuel injection system that allow the motor to produce 88.7Bhp of peak power at 6000rpm, while producing a maximum 115Nm of torque output at 4500rpm. Its 1.2-litre Fire petrol motor is based on the SOHC valve configuration and comes with 1172cc displacement capacity. This motor comprises of 4-cylinders and 8-valves that allows it to produce a maximum 67Bhp of power at 6000rpm that develops a peak torque output of 96Nm at just 2500rpm. The diesel version of Avventura is expected to come with a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, Multi-jet diesel motor with a displacement capacity of 1248cc. This engine comes with direct injection system that allows it to develop a peak power of 75Bhp at 4000rpm and yields 197Nm at 1750rpm. It is also speculated that the company will be offering this compact crossover with a powerful version of 1.3-litre engine that comes with the same 1248cc displacement capacity. However, it can produce a commanding power output of about 91.7Bhp at 4000rpm and can generate 209Nm of torque output at 2000rpm, which is quite good. All these engines are expected to be coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox, which will transfer the torque to the front wheels.
The petrol version of Avventura will be available with 1.4-litre and 1.2-litre engine options. This crossover fitted with a 1.4-litre engine comes with an ability to churn out 88.7Bhp of peak power at 6000rpm, while generating 115Nm of maximum torque at 4500rpm. Another petrol model equipped with a 1.2-litre motor comes with an ability to produce 67Bhp of maximum power at 6000rpm that results in developing 96Nm of maximum torque at just 2500rpm. The diesel model equipped with a 1.3-litre engine can develop a maximum power output of about 75Bhp, while generating 197Nm at 1750rpm. This 1.3-litre engine is also integrated with a variable geometry turbocharger, which can unleash a peak power output of 91.7Bhp at 4000rpm, while yielding 209Nm of torque output at 2000rpm.
This Fiat Avventura compact crossover is equipped with a 1.4-litre Fire petrol engine can accelerate from 0 to 100 Kmph speed in just 10.9 seconds and it can reach a maximum speed of 178 Kmph. Its 1.2-litre Fire petrol motor has the ability to reach a top speed of about 155 Kmph, while reaching the 100 Kmph mark in 14.5 seconds. The diesel version of Fiat Avventura comes fitted with a 1.3-litre Multijet engine that allows the vehicle to zoom towards a maximum speed of 165 Kmph and it can reach the 100 Kmph speed mark from a standstill in just 13.6 seconds.
