Avventura MULTIJET Active Review
Fiat India has launched its much awaited contemporary urban vehicle in the country's car market, which is known as Avventura. It is available in both petrol and diesel engine options for the buyers to choose from. This compact vehicle is going to compete against the likes of Ford Ecosport, Toyota Etios Cross, Volkswagen Cross Polo and others in this segment. Among the variants available, Fiat Avventura Multijet Active is the base level trim. It is powered by a 1248cc diesel power plant that has the ability to produce 93bhp in combination with 209Nm of peak torque output. The braking and suspension are quite efficient, which keeps the vehicle well balanced at all times. Its front and rear wheels are fitted with a set of ventilated disc and drum brakes respectively. This newly launched vehicle is blessed with high terrain gauges for an adventurous drive. The all-round body cladding and a set of alloy wheels makes its look quite sporty. Its internal cabin is very spacious and incorporated with a lot of features. The seats are ergonomically designed and covered with premium fabric upholstery.
Exteriors:
The company has given this variant an aerodynamic body structure with a lot of striking features. Its side profile is dominated by black colored molding, which is embossed with 'Avventura' lettering. The flared up wheel arches are fitted with a classy set of 16-inch alloy wheels, which gives the side profile an elegant look. These rims are further covered with 195/55 R16 sized tubeless radial tyres. Its door handles are painted in black color, while ORVMs are in body color. These external rear view mirrors are electrically adjustable and fitted with side turn blinker. Its frontage has a three tone bumper that is accompanied by a protective cladding. It houses a large air intake section for cooling the diesel engine. The honeycomb radiator grille is flanked by a neatly carved headlight cluster that is incorporated with high intensity halogen lamps and side turn indicator. Its bonnet has a couple of visible character lines and it is embossed with a company logo. The large windscreen is integrated with a set of intermittent wipers. Its rear end has a black garnished bumper, which has a pair of reflectors and accompanied by chrome finished exhaust pipes. The windscreen has a defogger along with a wash and wipe function. The sporty roof spoiler is integrated with a high mounted stop lamp.
Interiors:
This Fiat Avventura Multijet Active variant has a spacious internal cabin, which is designed in beige and black color scheme. Its two tone dashboard comes with a few features like an advanced instrument cluster, a sporty steering wheel, a large glove box and AC vents. The illuminated instrument cluster is equipped with a few functions like a digital clock, odometer, multi-tripmeter, real time mileage indicator, distance to empty and programed speed limit buzzer. It also has programed service reminder, tachometer and a trip calculator, which includes range, mileage, average speed and duration. It is incorporated with well cushioned seats that are covered with premium fabric upholstery. The second row seat comes with foldable function, which helps in increasing the boot space of the car. The manufacturer has given this variant a number of utility based aspects, which are cup and bottle holders, front seat back pockets, height adjustable front head restraints and several other aspects.
Engine and Performance:
This variant is incorporated with a 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine that is capable of displacing 1248cc. This double overhead camshaft valve configuration power plant carried four cylinders that have sixteen valves. It is integrated with a direct fuel injection supply system, which helps in delivering a maximum mileage of 20.5 Kmpl on bigger roads . While its mileage comes down to nearly 17.5 Kmpl, when driven under city traffic conditions. This motor is coupled with a five speed manual transmission gear box that transmits torque output to its front wheels. It has the ability to churn out a peak power of 90bhp at 4000rpm along with a maximum torque output of 209Nm at 2000rpm. This vehicle can cross the speed barrier of 100 Kmph in around 14.33 seconds and achieves a top speed of 165 Kmph approximately.
Braking and Handling:
The automaker has incorporated this trim with a reliable braking system. The front wheels are fitted with a robust set of disc brakes, while the rear ones are equipped with sturdy drum brakes. It is blessed with a proficient suspension system that helps the vehicle to remain stable on any road condition. The front axle is assembled with an independent McPherson strut, while the rear ones gets a telescopic stabilizer bar. On the other hand, it has a hydraulic power assisted steering system with tilt adjustment function. It makes handling quite convenient while minimizing the efforts of driver even during heavy traffic conditions.
Comfort Features:
This base level trim is bestowed with some innovative comfort aspects that gives its passengers an enjoyable driving experience. The list includes a manual HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) unit with foot level rear air circulation. This helps in regulating the cabin temperature besides creating a pleasant ambiance. It has front power windows with delay and auto down function on driver's side. This trim has a 12V power socket that is quite useful for charging mobile phones and other electronic devices as well. Apart from these, it has a desmodronic foldable key with boot release, remote keyless entry, high terrain gauges with compass and inclinometer, follow me home headlamps, rear parcel shelf, clutch foot rest and a tilt adjustable steering wheel and so on.
Safety Features:
This Fiat Avventura Multijet Active trim is available with crucial safety aspects that ensures protection of its passengers. It has central locking system, which allows closing of all doors at the push of a button. The engine immobilizer with rolling code prevents the vehicle from unauthorized access and protects it from theft. It has fire prevention system, which functions by cutting down the fuel supply system in case of roll over. The notifications like seat belt warning lamp and door open indicator on instrument panel keeps the driver alert. In addition to these, it includes a robust body structure with side impact protection beams, height adjustable front headrest and automatic door lock that adds to the safety quotient.
