Aston Martin has proudly added another lavish and totally luxurious model to its Indian portfolio recently. The new Aston Martin Vanquish is the fifth model in its sports car range present in the Indian car market. Right now, the company has DB9, Vantage, Rapide, DBS and Vanquish in its Indian portfolio. The new offering from the firm certainly retains the ability to burn a deep hole in your pocket and is the most expensive Aston Martin car being sold in India. The Aston Martin Vanquish is basically the successor of Aston Martin DBS, therefore, one would notice the similar shape and a little inspiration from One-77. On the other hand, the engine department of Aston Martin Vanquish is strong enough to produce 565bhp of peak power and a maximum torque of 620Nm. The 6.0-litre, V12 engine is coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission that is further accompanied by paddle shifters. Despite the single clutch unit, the car doesn’t disappoint in terms of performance and goes from 0 to 100 kmph in merely 4.1 seconds with a crest speed of a whopping 295kmph.

Therefore, to have the power, pick-up, acceleration and performance, the mileage of the new Aston Martin Vanquish is a bit low on the graph. The car comes with a strong and powerful 6.0-litre, V12 engine that is capable of producing a peak power output of 565bhp and a maximum torque of 620Nm. The 6-speed automatic gearbox coupled with the engine help the car to deliver a humble fuel economy that might come out to be a low point here. 

Aston Martin Vanquish is powered by an all alloy, independent quad variable camshaft, 6.0-litre, V12 engine that is mid-mounted in order to improve the nimbleness of the car. The car comes with 48 valves with a fully catalysed stainless exhaust system with active bypass valves and six three-way catalytic converters. The 5,935cc, V12 engine cranks out a massive 565bhp of peak power at 6750rpm and 620Nm torque figure at 5500rpm.

As the new Vanquish has evolved from the DBS version, lots of the features are similar to its precursor, like the elongated side streaks. The gaping mouth look of DBS have been improved with the lower lip of the vehicle that comes along with a rectangular front spoiler. The Vanquish features a larger air duct in comparison to the 2012 DBS on the front fascia, which enhances the appearance of the car and gives it a sporty appearance. The headlight conclave of the new Vanquish gives it an edgy look and also comprises of LED lights. The hood of the new Vanquish is similar to that of the DBS but a few changes have been incorporated in that too. The Vanquish has nostril style heat extractors that are located on either sides of the car.

The new Aston Martin Vanquish is available in two seater Coupe and four seater saloon. The vehicle comes with newly designed features, a spacious cabin and a boot space of 368 litres, which is 60 percent larger than that of the 2012 DBS, of which the car has adopted a number of features. An all new interior look has been provided to the new Vanquish that is a trimmed and fine luxmil and semi- aniline leather and Alcantara that comes in hand stitching. The centre stack of the vehicle has been inspired by the One-77, that features an all new infotainment system. The steering wheel comes with a tilt adjustable steering column along with steering mounted controls. The driver and passenger seats are equipped with power multi-adjustable functions for a better riding experience. The vehicle has an air-cooling system which is standard in the Aston Martin Vanquish. The other features incorporated in the car are tachometer, telescopic steering column, tyre inflation/pressure monitor and trip computer. The interior of the car is fully leather furnished, starting from the front seat all the way to the door trims. The front and rear passenger seats come with the heating feature. The windscreen has been laminated with a clear noise-insulation layer. The exterior heated mirrors of the car come with a powerfold feature looking at the climatic conditions of USA.

The engine of the new Aston Martin Vanquish is impressive. Under the hood, you would find an all-alloy, dynamic, strong and independent quad variable camshaft timing 6.0-litre, V12 engine with 42 valves. This 5935cc engine is a rear-wheel drive that has the ability to churn out a peak power output of 565bhp at the rate of 6750rpm along with 620Nm of maximum torque at the rate of 5500rpm. The performance delivered by the car on-road is extravagant and remarkable. Zooming away with a top speed of 295kmph, the car doesn’t let down at all. 

As the successor of DBS, Vanquish comes with the same chassis and adorns the same 20-inch wheels. Since this is a sports car and is sure to give you an adrenaline rush while driving with a top speed of 295kmph, it needs more stability at the rear end which is why the rear wheels are equipped with 1.51J X 20 inches, Pirelli P Zero 305/30 ZR20 tyres whereas the front end holds 9J X 20 inches Pirelli P Zero 255/35 ZR20 tyres. Also present as an option are 10-spoke alloy wheels that come with graphite finish. In the 20-spoke alloy wheels as an optional package the company offers five different finishes that include 20-spoke alloy wheels in liquid silver, silver finish with diamond turning, graphite finish with diamond turning, gloss black with diamond tuning and satin black with diamond turning.

When it comes to speedy mean machines, braking comes across as an important factor that needs to be as smooth as the revved up engine that is giving you a pulsating feeling. Aston Martin Vanquish comes with ventilated carbon ceramic discs that are apt for high-performance vehicles as they lower down the weight of the vehicle and gives a proper friction from very high speeds and at all temperatures. The Carbon Ceramic disc brakes are 398mm in diameter and come with six-piston callipers in the front end whereas the rear end is facilitated with 360mm diameter with four-piston callipers. Also incorporated into the car is Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) that automatically differentiates the amount of force applied to the carbon ceramic disc brakes as per the road conditions, speed, etc. Both the features when functioning together (ABS and EBD) apply more or less braking pressure to each wheel in order to maximise stopping power whilst maintaining vehicular control. As this is a sports vehicle that zooms up to a speed of 100kmph speed in just 4.1seconds, emergency braking has been incorporated in the car to slow down the speed or bring the car to a halt depending on the power with which the brake is applied. Even if the brake pedal is not fully pushed the system overrides and applies the brakes automatically until the ABS takes over to stop the wheels from locking up. Apart from these, the car is also equipped with positive torque control which supplies the torque to each wheel as per demand and traction control which is generally a secondary feature of the ABS and is designed to prevent loss of grip of wheels. 

The handling and safety of the 2012 Aston Martin Vanquish is up-to-the mark. The sports car features ventilated carbon ceramic discs with 6-piston callipers for the front brakes and the same with 4-piston callipers for the rear brakes. The handling of the car is ensured by the suspension system while the safety of the car and the passengers has been well taken care of. The new Aston Martin Vanquish comes with Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, which prevents the wheels from locking up when immediate brakes are applied. To enhance the safety during the drive, the car also has emergency brake assist, launch control, traction control, positive torque control and dynamic stability control with track mode. Eight airbags are also present to make sure that the passengers are safe and secure in case of any accident or collision. 

The accessories and stereo department of the new Aston Martin Vanquish are best-in-class. You would find the new infotainment system present with capacitive switching. The 1000W Bang and Olufsen Beosound audio system with 13 speakers will certainly blow your mind. The 6.5-inch LCD screen with Garmin satellite navigation system makes sure that you are not lost during your ride. The audio system further has iPod, iPhone and USB interface along with AM/FM radio. On the other hand the A2DP Bluetooth audio and phone streaming with Wi-Fi Hub5 makes the new Aston Martin Vanquish a perfect, technologically sound car.
