The Mahindra XUV500 AT W6 2WD comes with a 2179cc diesel engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission. It is based on the W6 trim and has front-wheel drive configuration.

It is priced at Rs 14.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi, as of May 8, 2017) and is the most affordable automatic XUV500 except in the national capital region where the XUV500 AT W6 1.99 mHawk is sold. It is around Rs 90,000 more expensive than the W6 variant with a six-speed manual gearbox and Rs 30,000 more expensive than the XUV500 AT W6 1.99 mHawk.

It is powered by a 2179cc diesel engine which produces 142PS of power @ 3750 rpm and 330Nm of torque @1600-2800rpm. The power figures are same; however, it produces 10Nm more torque as compared to the XUV500 AT W6 1.99 mHawk which comes with a 1999cc diesel engine. It has a fuel efficiency of 16 kmpl and a fuel tank of 70 litres which gives it a driving range of about 1100km.

In terms of features, the XUV500 AT W6 2WD come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and Android Auto connectivity, projector headlamps, smart rain sensing wipers, power-foldable and adjustable outside rear view mirrors and cruise controls.

When it comes to safety, the XUV500 AT W6 2WD has driver and passenger airbags, Anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), hill-hold and hill-descent control and disc brakes on all four wheels.

However, the W6 variant does miss a lot of features offered in the top-spec variants. It misses power-adjustable driver's seat, automatic climate control, telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel, alloy wheels, fog lamps, side and curtain airbags, leather upholstery, push button stop/start, sunroof and reverse parking camera.
