In its latest iteration, the Honda Jazz offers a healthy balance of space, equipment and convenience. A big part of the last factor is the inclusion of an automatic transmission, which was missing in the old model. The Jazz AT is only offered with a petrol engine and in two variants i.e. the Jazz 1.2 S AT i VTEC and Jazz 1.2 V AT i VTEC. The S is the more affordable variant. At a price of Rs 7.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi, as of 9 May, 2017), it commands a premium of Rs 1.10 lakh over its manual counterpart.

On the outside, the front grille is a combination of gloss black and chrome, while the license plate gets a chrome garnish above as well. It also gets a set of 15-inch wheels (base E variant gets a 14-inch setup) with wheel caps, while the door handles and wing mirrors are body-coloured.

Inside, the car gets a standard blue-illuminated instrument cluster that includes a single trip meter and a shift position indicator, among other displays. It also gets a silver finish for the gear knob and inner door handles. For entertainment, you get a 3.5-inch stereo with AUX/USB/MP3 connectivity and steering mounted audio controls. This variant also gets a driver seat-height adjuster, tilt steering and electrically-adjustable wing mirrors. For safety, dual front airbags come as standard and unlike its manual counterpart, the Jazz S AT does get ABS with EBD too.

Powering the Jazz AT is a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 90PS of power and 110Nm of torque. The motor comes paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 19kmpl, which is marginally better than the Jazz MT.

The Honda Jazz automatic goes up against the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Maruti Ignis, Hyundai Elite i20 and the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI.
