Latest Update: The test mule Citroen Basalt has been spotted testing in India ahead of its launch.
Launch: It is expected to be launched in India by August 2024.
Price: The Citroen Basalt SUV-coupe is expected to be priced from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
Variants: Citroen could offer its SUV-coupe in three variants: You, Plus, and Max.
Engine And Transmission: The Citroen Basalt will likely be powered by the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine (110 PS /up to 205 Nm) as the C3 hatchback and C3 Aircross compact SUV. This engine will be offered with both a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Features: Citroen could offer the Basalt SUV-coupe with features such as 10.2-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch digital driver’s display, automatic AC, cruise control, push button engine start/stop, and keyless entry.
Safety: Its safety kit could include up to six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a rear parking camera, and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Rivals: In India, the Citroen Basalt Vision will take on the Tata Curvv, while also being an alternative to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Honda Elevate, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
