Mahindra Verito uses SOHC, MPFI engine that is more fuel efficient.

The 1.4 liter, 4 cylinders, 1390cc petrol engine of Mahindra Verito produces a top power of 75 hp at 5500 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 110 Nm at 3000 rpm via a five speed manual gearbox. The engine comes with three trims, named as 1.4 liter GL, 1.4 liter GLE and 1.4 liter GLX; both the GLE and GLX are available in a few cities as BS III compliant variants.

The higher end 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder, 1461cc diesel engine of Mahindra Verito belts out maximum power of 65 hp at 4000 rpm and returns maximum torque of 160 Nm at 2000 rpm through a five speed manual transmission as well. The engine is offered with total of 6 variants that also include BS III compliant variants; the trims are 1.5 litre DLE, 1.5 litre DLX and 1.5 liter DLSX.

Features such as single disc CD player, driver lumber support, front fog lamps, rear defogger, power windows, glove box light, trunk room light and rear head restraints are found only in premium variants of Verito. Mahindra Verito offers airbags for driver apart from the honeycomb structure which protects you in case of front impact and cross member at the rear which protects you in case of rear impact. Remote door locking and central locking are only for premium buyers. Remote fuel lid opener is standard in all variants but there is no remote boot control even for the premium variant customers. Some other advanced features include the Driver Information System (DIS), electronic power assisted steering wheel and fully protected rear seats that make the New Collection Verito the safest ride on road. Editor's take : The power of the Verito is decent, with amazing drivability. The power on paper at times can be misleading and the Verito is one such example. It feels underpowered on paper, but it has good power.

Editor's take : The acceleration of the Verito is good, but it has better driavability and good low end and strong mid-range.

However, Mahindra Verito  1.5 L engine with a MPFI fuel system gives a stupendous performance with a a maximum power of 65 hp at 4000 rpm and a Maximum Torque of 160 Nm at 2000 rpm. The all new 1.5 L diesel engine reaches 100 km in just 17.2 seconds and touches the top speed of 151 kmph.

Editor's take : The interiors of the Verito are spacious for both the rows, as it is based on the Logan. Mahindra has improved the quality and the plastics do look and feel good.

Mahindra India has also revamped the interiors of this premium sedan and has given quite a number of remarkable changes to this newfangled Mahindra Verito and it is now more exhilarating and spicier than its forerunner. To start with the insides have been given a more refined and cultured look with a smart two tone dashboard and a brilliant instrument panel. While the seating arrangement is extremely comfortable and spacious, this can aptly fit in 5 occupants effortlessly and offer them impressive comfort.  The seats are covered with premium fabric upholstery with a couple of options, which are dependent on the kind of trim the customer purchases. The rear seat is pretty wide and that makes it very comfortable for the passengers who are sitting behind. The rear door trim is also covered in fabric to give this sedan an urbane look. This back seat also has three head restraints as well for giving individual comfort the passengers. Editor's take : The 1.5-litre diesel engine on the Verito is a gem. It has almost of no turbo lag and even is very drivable. This oil burner is very frugal and even the performance is decent and good enough to potter around town.

Editor's t ake : The ride of the Verito is plush as it built on the Logan’s suspension, which is very good. Most of the shocks from the road are soaked up by the suspension and even the handling is decent.

The all new Mahindra Verito is equipped with a sound braking system. Mahindra Verito’s front brakes are disc type and the rear brakes are drum type. Mahindra Verito  is also equipped with the advanced ABS (Anti lock Braking System) with EBD which is of great help in decelerating the car when needed. This ABS also gives a better control over the car. This is an automatic braking system which works in the car.

The Mahindra Verito has got finer suspension system that is responsible for a comfortable driving experience. The front suspensions are MacPherson-type with wishbone link while the rear is of H-section torsion beam type with programmed deflection-coil spring.

Editor's take : The Verito gets active safety features like ABS, which helps in controlled braking. The passive safety features include airbags and seatbelts for all five occupants.

The Mahindra Verito is a very safe car with many advanced safety features attached to it. The car is equipped with both the active and passive safety features that make it a safe car. Some of the advanced safety features are Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with EBD. The car is packed with driver airbag to protect against front collision; a honeycomb dashboard with excellent front unit is designed against the head-on impact. For further protection, Magnesium steering wheel frame is designed to reduce the impact of collision and the mechanical components are well placed to limit the collision in the cabin.
