April 27, 2015 : The recently revealed all-new Jaguar XF has arrived in the country, the vehicle was spied testing in Bangalore. Earlier in March, JLR revealed the 2016 XF, it features 75% aluminium in its architecture and has become 60 kgs lighter on RWD models and 120 kgs lighter for the AWD models. Visually, the front has redesigned all-LED headlamps, wider grille, new F-Type inspired tail lights and sportier rear bumper. The machine still looks great with its long hood and short overhangs. Inside, it gets a new InControl Touch Pro premium infotainment system1 and a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster. Other features include laser heads up display, All-Surface Progress Control system, Advanced passive damper technology and more. The new model will receive a wide range of powertrains from 163 PS Ingenium diesel to 380 PS V6 supercharged petrol.
Jaguar XF was launched in 2008 and received a positive response from the richies in India. As it completes nearly three years in the market, the company has given a make-over to the saloon and brought out a facelifted version. All the changes in the new model are merely cosmetic with the exteriors and interiors tweaked. This company's cars are regarded as bold and beautiful and the new series has got all the attributes installed. The car not only comes fitted with luxurious interior features but also with super cool innovative technologies. The automotive giant unveiled the revised version of this car at the 2011 New York Auto Show earlier this year. This updated and upgraded car went on sale around the world in the middle of this year, and considering that Tata now owns the JLR brands, this new model will surely adorn some wealthy garages in India. This car maker is filling a lot of action in the Indian luxury car market and knows it can’t afford to be slow to offer its very latest. This speaks as to why this face-lifted saloon has been brought about. This machine was in a true sense, a head-turner for the Tata-owned British luxury car maker. After a steep decline in sales during recent years, the company went back to pencil and paper and redesigned its saloon. The grille is stretched now as compared to the erstwhile model while the front bumper has been redesigned to go with the updated styling. The section under bumper also gets bit of styling with 3 airdams, the outside pair of which is now intersected by twisted chrome fins. Towards the rear, the tail light design is again reformed. Even the rear of the car has been redesigned with LED technology. The interior, getting subtle now, receives redesigned seats, restyled steering wheel and an all-new colour central and dial-mounted screens relaying reprogrammed navigation and entertainment software. Apart from some new technology on board, the new model boasts a fascia that seems to mimic its larger sibling, the XJ. The car maker lately came up with a diesel powered version of this model that was loaded with a 3.0 litre, diesel S powertrain generating awesome power of 275 Ps and mind-blowing torque of 600 Nm mated to automatic transmission. This engine along with the other two is kept the far away from any changes and all the 3 engines are used as it is in the facelift. The other two engines on board are petrol trimmed. The petrol variant is available with two variants in India i.e. the 5.0 Litre V8 Petrol variant and the R Supercharged 5.0 Litre V8 Petrol. However, this variant is not displayed in showrooms in India but can be imported by the company on orders. The company is also looking at plonking the new four-cylinder 2.2-litre diesel engine which makes great sense for fuel economy-minded luxury car buyers. With 188bhp on tap, performance will be more than adequate and efficiency will be better than the 3-litre V6 diesel. The superior machine comes assembled with 18 inch alloy wheels and tubeless tyres with tyre repair system. This super luxury car has been gifted with wonderful features including the Jaguar Drive Selector, Jaguar Drive Control, Jaguar Sequential Shift and Dynamic Stability Control with Trac DSC mode the new Diesel XF combines responsive, Soft Grain leather seats, Phosphor Blue halo illumination and interior mood lighting, seven-inch full colour touch-screen display and Jaguar Smart Key System with Keyless Entry and Start. It also included standard features such as cruise control, electric glass sunroof, front and rear parking aid with rear view camera and Jaguar Sound System with 6 CD player. The safety features of the massive machine include Jaguar Smart Key SystemTM with Keyless Entry and Start, Parking Aid – Front and Rear with Rear Camera, 7 Inch Full Color Touch Screen with Controls for Audio, Climate, Security System and Remote Control Central Locking.
The sports saloon has increased horizons of sporting credentials in automobile world. The new model is assonant on mechanics but the exteriors are tweaked drastically. The beautiful 10 spoke alloy wheels shed luxury and looks simply sporty and assertive. The exterior is simply mesmerizing for all those who fantasies luxury with power. The exterior will simply blow your mind with those interesting cuts and lines on its body, giving it an incomparably look in its segment.
Overall length, wheelbase, width and height of this car are 4961mm, 2053 mm and 1460 mm respectively which is in perfect ratio that makes it a well balanced and controlled car. It has a wheelbase of 2909 mm.
Ed's take: The interiors of the XF makes you feel exclusive, apart from the luxury it offers. Push the start button and the gear knob raises into your palm and also, the AC vents flip open.
Inside, the new machine has been given a subtle refresh with a restyled Servotronics steering wheel joining revised switchgear for the ventilation systems and a new colored, central and dial-mounted screen for the navigation and infotainment systems. Redesigned seats and new trim pieces complete the list of changes in the interiors . The car is beautifully designed to fill that aroma of luxury while drive. It owns all those supreme luxury finishes which will simply take your heart away. It melts wood veneers along with the supple leather and shining aluminum to give a contemporary look which you will never forget in life. The designing is too exclusive to its origin with every part showing huge work done by craftsmen. The interior depicts modern looks and still assures you the traditional comfort. Coming to the performance oriented detailing, it again deserves a patent as it is exclusive and new in market. Its seats are in soft grain leather giving comfort and style. Seats are adjustable as per convenience. The 5 seater has lofty seating arrangements. The designing though being eye catchy still maintains some serenity and simplicity in it. It promises simplicity and luxury in its own unique ways. The dash is jeweled up with little hallo illumination around 2 trip meter, Jaguar Drive Selector console, switch panels, Electric Parking Brake and the start-stop button. These detailing simply enhances the car interior and facilitate the driver in small yet peculiar ways. The 4 ddor salon has a good boot space of 462 litres.
The new saloon treats you like its master and obeys your commands at a click. A powerful AC with dual zone climate control, cruise control and rear AC vents commences the comfort list . Power windows, remote control opening for boot and fuel lid, power steering with tilt adjustments for reaching and raking and audio controls for easy access to infotainment system are the other Jinis being operated with ease. The saloon gives you all the comfort front and rear armrest, rear wiper and rear defogger. Tinted glass with provides protection from heat and rain sensor wipers on windscreen along with electrically heated, auto dimming power foldable ORVMs with approach lamps and side repeaters are boastful. Auto headlamp and auto washer makes the this far more than just a car.
Ed's take: The acceleration of the XF 2.2 is good and it is sufficient for city and highway driving.
Acceleration and pick up is something you will find abundant in this road hogging machine. The car has thrown open challenge with its exclusive supercharged engine. The diesel variant with 2993 cc engine can take you to a speed of 100 kmph from nil in just 6.4 seconds. The 385 Ps 5.0 Litre V8 Petrol version accelerates to 100 kmph in a time span of 5.7 seconds and reaches a highest speed of 250 kmph. The power output has taken a hike of 29 percent over its predecessor. This variant maintains good fuel efficiency at this power. The 510 Ps supercharged V8 petrol engine is a perfectionist which assures not just high power but also a life time experience. It can zoom to 100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds, which is a record in itself. It assures a maximum speed of 250 kmph.
Ed's take: All the engines on the offer aren’t just good on paper, but even in the real world. The performance is as good as a luxury car, while the 5.0-litre supercharged is scaring quick.

The diesel variant has been customized by engineers in the UK for the Indian market. With ride height adapted for Indian conditions and a non-DPF diesel engine, the 3.0L Diesel XF has been fully homologated and certified at ARAI for the Indian market. This symbolizes the importance and commitment that this massive car producer displays towards the fast growing Indian premium luxury car market. This engine along with the other two is kept the far away from any changes and all the 3 engines are used as it is in the facelift. The other two engines on board are petrol trimmed. The variant is packed with a 5.0 litre; supercharged V8 petrol engine develops outstanding power of 510 Ps at 6000-6500 rpm and belts out top torque of 625 Nm at 2500-5500 rpm that give enough calibers to the car and results in 0-100 kmph mark in only 4.9 seconds. However, this variant is not displayed in showrooms in India but can be imported by the company on orders.
Ed's take: Jaguar recently introduced the 2.2-litre XF, which is the new smallest engine on the offering. It now comes with an eight-speed ZF transmission that makes its fuel efficient. Jaguar has downsized the petrol engine to 2.0-litre turbo petrol and this has improved the efficiency of the petrol mill too.
The vehicle is available in three major variants, one with diesel engine (XF Diesel), other with petrol engine (XF 5.0 Litre V8 Petrol) and the last with supercharged engine (XF R Supercharged 5.0 Litre V8 Petrol). The vehicle is built with latest intelligent technologies to give good fuel efficiency without compromising seamless power delivery and smooth refined performance. The diesel version of the car works on implementing two turbochargers of different size with bigger one operating at lower engine speeds. It responds when the exhaust gas inputs are low. The diesel version offers an average of 8.7 kmpl in city and 13.0 on highway.
Ed's take: The power produced by the 2.2-litre, and 3.0-litre is good, whereas the 5.0-litre supercharged is brutal. With over 500bhp on the offer, it competes with AMGs, Ms and RS. The 2.0-litre too is powerful and efficient enough.
The three variants deliver different powers with different engine technology. The Diesel version comes with a total engine capacity of 2933 cc. This engine assures a power of 275 Ps at 4000 rpm. Apex torque of 600 Nm is reached at 2,000 rpm. The all exclusive 3.0 Litre AJ V6D GEN III S Engine assures immediate and instance response for swift overtaking. The petrol version smokes out a maximum power of 385 PS at 6500 rpm. It promises a peak torque of 515 Nm at 3,500 rpm. The V8 engine layout makes it a power house with a capacity of 5000 cc. Talking about the R Supercharged 5.0 Litre V8 Petrol, it comes with a displacement of 5,000cc and churns out 510 PS at 6500 rpm. Peak torque of 625 Nm is reached at 5500 rpm. It is sure to satisfy the most serious drivers easily. The technology is rarely found in market and that’s what makes it exclusive. The lighting quick Sequential Shift System is featured in its automatic transmission.
Ed's take: Being a luxury sedan, it gets all the frills like sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats, touchscreen system, navigation, electrically adjustable steering wheel. There is now even rear blindfolds that are electrically operated. The front seats can be adjusted from the rear seats itself.
This vehicle makes no compromise when it comes to style and luxury. For that it offers 6 Disc In dash CD changer, portable audio interface and MP3 compatibility to its customers. Bluetooth telephone connectivity makes things more interesting in the sports saloon. And to facilitate all these, you don't have to struggle with little control buttons rather just do it in a smart way with 7" full touchscreen display with audio control, climate control and blue tooth connectivity in the entertainment system.
Ed's take: The handling characteristics of the XF are good and even the steering wheel feedback is good despite being light.
The front brakes are ventilated and the rear brakes are disc brakes to avoid any mishap during accidental situations. Not just that, a lot of electronics also detect early threats and senses that the car can go out of control, and thus instruct a firmer control over the vehicle. Anti Lock-braking system along with EBD (Electronic Braking System) is helpful in preventing the wheels from locking up during emergencies, thus making the handling of the machine quite easy. All independent suspension system is used in the luxury saloon. 6 speed Electronic Automatic Transmission with Jaguar Sequential renders a butter smooth drive on Indian roads.
Ed's take: The safety features on the XF are as good as any other luxury sedans. Airbags, ESP, ABS etc are all present on the XF. The handling of the XF is good and even the ground clearance of this sedan.
It uses all latest and intelligent technologies to keep your car safe and you being free from tensions. It comes with Jaguar smart key system which makes it possible to conduct keyless entry and start. It also features pedestrian contact sensing to protect your wealth from outside danger. The front and rear camera keeps you aware of the ambiance and thus avoiding any mishap. The remote control central locking and security system keeps you safe and secure with this sport saloon.
ABS and EBD enhance the safety with along with 8 airbags, front and rear parking sensor, fog lamps, traction control, and ESP (Electronic Stability Program). 3 rear seat belts are also gifted to it.
It is dressed with 10 spoke 18 inch alloy wheels. Its wheels are the important part of the elements providing luxury to the car. Full size spare mirror is also added. Tubeless tyres are used for less wear and tear.

The recently revealed all-new Jaguar XF has arrived in the country, the vehicle was spied testing in Bangalore. Jaguar made the world preview of the sedan recently at the 2015 New York Auto Show. The new XF will compete majorly with BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E-Class, Audi A6 and is expected to launch next year in India.
Jaguar has revealed the new 2016 XF in London before its global debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show. The car was unveiled in a high-profile event, literally, as the new Jaguar XF completed world's longest high-wire journey above London's business district, Canary Wharf on two 34mm carbon wires, suspended 18 metres above water. Jaguar has taken an evolutionary step for designing the 2016 XF as the new car gets only minor upgrades visually but has become lighter with better equipment.
Jaguar has launched a toned down version of its luxury sedan the Jaguar XF. Termed as the executive edition, this variant is still powered by the 2.2 litre engine but comes minus some of the creature comforts seen on its premium sibling. The executive diesel edition comes sans the memory feature for the driver seat and the mirrors; it comes with rear parking sensors but without the rearview camera; and no front passenger seat away button which allowed the passengers to adjust the front seat for better legroom.
