July 13, 2011: Ford India has reached a target of selling 60,000 units including exports in this year from January to June 2011. This is a year-over-year growth of 53 percent. The company gives credit to the inspiring sale of Ford Figo, Ford Fiesta Classic. Particularly the diesel variants of Figo and Fiesta Classic cars are in high demand following the recent rise in petrol prices. Meanwhile, in order to meet the growing demand for Ford Fiesta Classic, Ford India is expanding its engine plant in Chennai. The new Ford Fiesta launch is scheduled on July 14. With the launch of New Ford Fiesta customers will have two options and they can either go for Ford Fiesta Classic or the new Ford Fiesta. The New Ford Fiesta production has already begun and the company hopes that there would have very less waiting time once it is launched.
Style, comfort, better engine ride are the things which are being offered by the Ford Fiesta Classic. Ford has incorporated many clever features to the dash, such as the cigarette lighter jack is tucked away from immediate field of vision, the cup holders integrated into the rear arm rest, the single cup holder that becomes two on demand and so on. The driver side seat is adjustable for height, but the mechanism is bit peculiar. It almost feels like you are using a Ford Fiesta Classic tail light roadside hand pump; but yes it is quite effortless when compared to some which have rotating knobs. Further, the front seats have a lot of play which allows for people who are very tall or very short to be able to find a comfortable position, another advantage of the high amount of seat play is that when the front seats are moved all the way forward, huge amounts of rear leg room is liberated. The rear seats fold all the way forward, but are not split. Few things that do bother me include the boot open lid that is on the other side and the fabric on the ZXi model which really could do better, also the single CD on such a high priced car, perhaps also bigger alloys to suit those large wheel wells.

Ford India has introduced a limited edition of the Classic sedan. The limited edition is based on the CLXi variant, and gets new accessories which was previously only available in the top of the line Titanium models. The limited edition Classic is available in both petrol and diesel versions. The bookings for the special edition sedan has already started.
The season of discounts has just started to take off. The discounts seem to be outpouring from every corner and Ford India has also joined the bandwagon. The American auto brand Ford Motors has introduced an advertising concept called 'Swap your Drive' to make the prospective consumers of Ford cars to actually 'Feel the Difference'. The auto major is encouraging the customers to exchange their cars with the new Ford cars like Ford Figo hatchback, Ford Fiesta Classic sedan and the Ford Endeavour SUV for one week and accumulate the Ford experience.
