May 26, 2011 : Finally the wait is over! Ferrari 458 Italia was launched today at a grand event organized at Janpath, New Delhi. Now the speculations regarding Ferrari 458 Italia price has finally ended with “Red Car” available at Rs. 2.56 crore (ex-showroom New Delhi). As per official reports, Ferrari is marking presence in India in alliance with Shreyans Group, which is official importer of Ferrari 458 Italia cars in India. Also, with large number of luxury car manufacturing giants like Rolls Royce, Bentley, Bugatti, Porsche, BMW and Mercedes Benz already gaining market share in counrty, Ferrari India is expected to receive excellent welcome.
The latest inclusion the fleet of Ferrari cars in India is the mighty Ferrari 458 Italia. This powerful and mighty “Red Car” is driven by 4,499 cc V8 engine taken from the aesthetic design of Ferrari/Maserati. The V8 engine of Ferrari 458 Italia produces power of 570 PS at 9,000 rpm and generates a torque of 540 Nm at 6,000 rpm with 80% torque available at 3,250 rpm. The Ferrari 458 Italia features direct fuel injection system in its engine, which is a first in segment for Ferrari mid-rear engine setups in its road cars.
In terms of transmission, Ferrari 458 Italia in India incorporates standard transmission of Getrag 7-speed dual-clutch, which is quite related to the Ferrari California. Further, this Ferrari car model comes without manual gear option which entitles it to stand at fourth position after the Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari Challenge Stradale and Ferrari 430 Scuderia. Also, if sources are believed, Ferrari 458 Italia is the first running model not to encompass a manual transmission system.
Other Ferrari 458 Italia specifications include 178.2inches of Length, 76.3 inches of Width, 47.8 inches Height, along with front track width of 65.8 inches and rear track width of 63.2 inches. This special edition of Ferrari 458 will be limited to 20 units only and is specially created to memorialize the company’s 20th anniversary in China.
