The all new and advanced Ford Fiesta Diesel Style has been launched by the Ford India Private Limited which has a lot of potential in Indian automobile market. It is in line to give a tough competition to Honda City, Vento, Verna and SX4. This is a sixth generation Fiesta and is claimed to run completely on technology. Also this is a global model and has won nearly 72 Auto awards internationally. It has broken many sales records worldwide and the company hopes to perform the similar thing in India. This is a manual transmission model and comprise of many technological advancements such as voice control, dual clutch power shaft and many more. Under the hood it has a very powerful 1.5 TDI diesel engine which has a very good power as well as torque output. This car also possesses many unique and impressive exterior as well as interiors. It may be the India’s most fuel efficient sedan with an impressive 23.5kmpl fuel economy. The seats are quite comfortable and have the latest entertainment system with multi connectivity of mobile phones, iPod’s etc. It is very well suited for Indian roads, many thanks to the great suspension and braking system.   

Exteriors

The all new Ford Fiesta Diesel Style comes in many shades and hues. There are a total of 8 colors, namely Paprika Red, Chill Metallic, Panther Black, Squeeze, Diamond White, Kinetic Blue, Sea Grey and Moon Dust Silver. The foxy eyes headlamps with dual chamber sparkling reflector headlamps are amazing. The front bumper, door handles and the side view mirrors are body colored. The rear appliqué as well as radiator grille are black in color. It does have the tinted glass, fog lamps and full wheel covers. The B Pillar appliqué adds a very good side view look which is very appealing. The outside rear view mirrors have turn indicators as a precaution for additional safety and for the looks too. The overall length, width and height are 4291mm X 1722mm X 1496mm respectively . The front and rear tracks measures out to be 1472mm and 1460mm. The kerb weight comes out to be 1147kgs and it has a 43 liters capacity for fuel tank.           

Interiors

The interiors truly show that ford has done some serious works in this car. The two tones of Fairland and Syracuse used looks very beautiful and give a luxurious feel. And the seats do feel very warm and refreshing. Even the hand brake release knob has been given a chrome finish. The inside door handles and AC vents share the same finish i.e. metallic sterling. The flat woven max fabric done for the upholstery also is a good touch for the car. The gear knob has been moulded black in color and so is the instrument cluster bezel . Other interior features include centre console coin holders and cup holders, rear centre armrest, door trims, magazine holders on doors etc. The boot space comes out with a capacity of 430litres. The seats have been placed so that there is enough room for legs as well as hands.      

Engine and Performance 

Ford Fiesta Diesel Style possesses a 1.5 TDI engine which has 4 cylinders in line with 8V single overhead camshaft . This diesel engine produces quite a lot of power and torque. The engine displacement comes out to be 1498cc . The maximum power output that can be generated is close to 90bhp at the rate of 3750rpm. And the maximum torque is 204Nm in the range between 2000 to 2750 rotations per minute. Also a thing worth noting is that the construction for engine is all aluminum alloy. The transmission comprise of 5 speed manual transmission which very efficiently provides a good boost. There can be no doubts about the fuel economy of the car as the Ford claims that the fuel consumption for highway and city are 23kmpl and 17kmpl .

Braking and Handling

Starting with the brakes, the front brakes are ventilated discs and the rear ones are self adjusting drum brakes. The suspension system has also seen many major changes as it supports McPherson strut which is independent and comes with anti roll bar & coil spring as front suspension and for the rear suspension, it has twin shock absorbers filled with gas & oil and a semi independent twist beam. The wheel size is 381(15”) steel while the tyres are 195/60 R15 tubeless radial ones . There has been a revolutionary pull drift compensation technology used in steering.    

Safety features 

Ford Fiesta Diesel Style comes with dual airbags for the driver as well as for the passenger. The ABS (Anti Braking System) and the EBD (Electronic Balance Distribution) system work as they are required to do. The global engineering done by Ford has produced great safety and security features such as door reinforcements, energy absorbing bumpers and the crumple zones for the protection of passengers as well as for the vehicle too. The key entry is remotely programmable and child lock is also present in it. Some other safety features are engine immobilizer, central locking, good quality seat belts etc. The ford company also provides a 24X7 roadside assistance which has a lot to offer such as flat tyre assistance, fuel delivery, taxi etc.       

Comfort features

The comfort features offered by the Ford Fiesta Diesel Style are of high class. It has been equipped with intelligent rear defogger or demister and guide me home headlamps. The rear seats are fully foldable for storage needs. A footwell lamp, battery saver mode, height adjustable driver seats, tilt adjust steering offer a lot of convenience. The steering wheel comes loaded with many audio controls. An impressive audio system is also installed which has 6 speakers also . This model misses out on features such as voice control and Bluetooth but it has many connectivity options such as AUX in etc. A digital trip meter, tachometer, 12V power outlet, electrically adjustable ORVM, low fuel warning, seat belt warning are also fitted in this model.
