Gets updated aesthetics, added features and better safety features

  • India launch expected in early 2021.
  • It gets refreshed new front bumper, new alloy wheels and revised interior.
  • Now comes with a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Toyota has unveiled the facelifted Camry Hybrid in the European market. It features updated exterior, a revised interior and a few new safety features. The Camry is expected to hit the Indian market in early next year, probably in Q1 2021.

Since it is a facelift, the aesthetic updates are minor in nature in a typical Toyota fashion. Up front, it gets a new front bumper with redesigned upper and lower grilles. The lower grille is offered in either a Black or Dark Grey finish, while the grille side ornament can be finished in Chrome or Silver. The side and rear profile remain unchanged except for the introduction of a new set of alloy wheels which are available in two sizes: 17-inch and 18-inch.

On the inside, while the layout remains largely unchanged, it gets a redesigned central console. Where in the pre-facelift model, the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system was placed below the central AC vents, the updated model gets a new floating 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Other features on the facelifted Camry Hybrid remain similar to the pre-facelift model. It gets nine airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, rear parking sensors, JBL sound system, powered front seats, heads-up display, electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, three-zone climate control, electrically adjustable steering, auto-dimming IRVM and a tyre pressure monitoring system. When launched in India, the facelifted Camry Hybrid is expected to carry forward with the same set of features along with a new touchscreen infotainment system.

Under the hood, things have remained unchanged. It continues to get the same 2.5-litre petrol engine coupled to an electric motor. It has a combined output of 218PS. Power is sent to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox.

With the facelift, the Camry Hybrid might get a slight price hike. Currently, it is priced from 39.02 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Camry Hybrid does not have any direct rivals in India.
