Latest Update: The Maruti Fronx-based Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor has been launched in India. We have explained the design differences between the Taisor and Fronx.

Price: Toyota has priced it from Rs 7.74 lakh to Rs 13.04 lakh (introductory ex-showroom Delhi). You can also check out how the Toyota sub-4m crossover fares against the Fronx in terms of prices.

Variants: It is available in five broad variants: E, S, S+, G, and V. Here’s what each variant of the Toyota Taisor has to offer.

Colours: Toyota is offering the Urban Cruiser Taisor in five monotone shades and three dual-tone opitons: Lucent Orange, Sportin Red, Cafe White, Enticing Silver, Gaming Grey. The red, silver and white shades can be had with an optional Midnight Black roof.

Engine & Transmission: The Urban Cruiser Taisor uses the same engine options as the Fronx. The choices include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (90 PS/113 Nm) which will be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT, and a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine (100 PS/148 Nm) which will get the option of a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. It also gets the same CNG powertrain as the Fronx (77.5 PS/98.5 Nm) with the manual transmission.

Claimed Fuel Efficiency: Its powertrain-wise claimed mileage figures are as follows:

• 1.2-litre N/A petrol MT: 21.7 kmpl
• 1.2-litre N/A petrol AMT: 22.8 kmpl
• 1-litre turbo-petrol MT: 21.5 kmpl
• 1-litre turbo-petrol AT: 20 kmpl
• 1.2-litre petrol+CNG MT: 28.5 km/kg

Features: It comes with amenities like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, a heads-up display, automatic climate control, and cruise control.

Safety: Its safety kit includes up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a 360-degree camera.

Rivals: The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor takes on the Maruti Fronx, while it also serves as a crossover alternative to the subcompact SUVs like Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, and the upcoming Skoda subcompact SUV.
