New Rapid 1.0 TSI Monte Carlo AT Review
Skoda India has launched the Rapid Edition X in India at a starting price of Rs 10.75 lakh for the petrol variant and the Rs 12.46 lakh for the diesel version. The Edition X Edition is based on the top-of-the-line Style variant of the regular Rapid sedan and features cosmetic changes which include black accents on the grille, headlamp inserts, taillamp cluster and the outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs). The Rapid Edition X Edition also gets an all-black interior with contrast red stitching, a flat-bottom steering wheel and aluminium foot pedals for a more sportier experience. The Edition X 1.5 TDI MT Edition is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine puts out 105PS and 250Nm of torque and is available with either a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel variant returns 21.72 kmpl. It is equipped with driver and front passenger airbag as well as anti-lock braking system (ABS). Additionally, the diesel automatic variant gets electronic stability control (ESC) and hill-hold function as well. The Skoda Rapid Edition X Edition will compete against the recently launched Maruti Suzuki Ciaz S. Like the Skoda, this special edition variant of the Ciaz too features an all-black cabin, a rear spoiler and a sporty body kit. Priced at Rs 10.75 lakh and Rs 9.39 lakh respectively, the Rapid Edition X Edition and the Ciaz S make for a compelling choice for those looking for a sporty sedan with an all-black cabin that stands out from the regular versions.
