The Magnite Kuro edition has been created as part of Nissan’s collaboration for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023

  • The Magnite Kuro comes with an all-black theme inside and out.

  • It gets a black grille, alloys and door handles, Kuro badging and red brake callipers.

  • Nissan will offer the SUV with an AMT gearbox with the 1-litre N/A petrol engine.

  • Nissan already offers a CVT option with the Magnite’s 1-litre turbo-petrol unit.

  • AMT variants could command a premium of around Rs 55,000 over their manual counterparts.

The Nissan Magnite has just been showcased in the Kuro edition in India. Its new AMT version was also revealed alongside the special edition. The Kuro edition was born out of the collaboration between Nissan and the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the upcoming Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. Both are expected to go on sale sometime in October.

The special edition of the SUV comes in a stealthy black shade, with a blacked-out grille, alloys, and red brake callipers. It also features Kuro badging on the front fenders.

The insides get an all-black design as well. The blacked-out treatment continues on elements like the seat covers, door handles, steering wheel, and AC vents.

As the Kuro Edition is based on the higher-end variant of the Magnite, it comes with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charger, 360-degree camera and rear AC vents.

Nissan has not revealed the powertrain options on the Magnite Kuro Edition, but it is likely that the company will offer all the available options. Nissan also revealed the AMT gearbox option on the Magnite SUV. It comes paired with the 1-litre N.A. petrol engine. Nissan now offers the Magnite in two engine options: a 1-litre N/A (72PS/96Nm) paired with 5-speed manual or AMT, and a 1-litre turbo-petrol (100PS/160Nm) with a choice of manual or CVT gearboxes.

The pricing for the AMT has not yet been revealed, but expect a premium of around Rs. 55,000 over the manual variant. The Magnite goes up against the likes of Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Fronx, Hyundai Exter, Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, and the Renault Kiger.
