The waiting period of the Innova Hycross averages close to a year in several cities

Maruti Invicto

The Maruti Invicto has stormed the market with its competitive pricing. It’s a rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross distinguished by styling tweaks, powertrain options and changes in the feature list.

The Invicto, offered only with the petrol-hybrid powertrain, is more affordable than the hybrid variants of the Innova Hycross, by up to Rs 1.2 lakh. While the Toyota MPV commands a huge waiting period of up to 15 months, the Invicto can be had sooner, at least in these four metro cities:

Takeaways:

  • In a period of 6-8 months, you can get your Invicto parked at home, as opposed to the Innova Hycross, which averages a wait time of around 12 months in most of the cities.

  • In Bengaluru and Jaipur, the waiting period is literally down by a half.

  • We’re expecting to get the waiting period details of the Invicto for other cities from our dealerships soon enough, so stay tuned.

It is important to note that the bookings for the Toyota Innova Hycross’ top-end ZX and ZX (O) variants are still on hold due to the high waiting times as mentioned above. So, if you’re inclined towards the Hycross, the VX and VX(O) are the only variant options for now. Interestingly, the base-spec Invicto is closest to the Hycross VX(O) in terms of features on offer.

As both the MPVs are essentially the same under the skin, they get almost all the same features and technology. The common powertrain for the two is the 2-litre petrol-engine with hybrid tech using an e-CVT transmission. The Hycross also gives the choice of a regular 2-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor, also limited to a CVT automatic transmission. The hybrid powertrain claims an efficiency of 23.24kmpl.

In terms of features, both of them sport a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone AC, six airbags, TPMS, a 360-degree camera, and hill hold assist. It misses out on certain comforts of the Hycross such as ADAS and powered Ottoman seats in the middle row.
