In November 2023 sales, Maruti hatchbacks were among the top two, with the Tata Tiago making up the top three. Following the festive season, most hatchbacks experienced a decline in monthly sales. Here's the detailed sales report for compact and midsize hatchbacks in November 2023.

Maruti Wagon R Front

  • Despite facing a month-on-month (MoM) loss of 25 percent, the Maruti Wagon R was once again the top-selling hatchback for the second consecutive month. The Wagon R alone exceeded the combined sales of all models here, except the Maruti Swift. 

  • At second place, the Maruti Swift achieved sales of over 15,000 units in November 2023, showing a consistent year-on-year (YoY) performance. Though the Swift faced a MoM decline of 26 percent.

Tata Tiago

  • The Tata Tiago beats the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios to take the third spot in the sales chart with sales of over 5,500 units. It’s the only hatchback in the list that saw positive growth in both MoM and YoY sales, though under 10 percent each.

  • With over 4,700 units sold, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios slipped from the third to the fourth spot in November 2023 sales. The hatchback has experienced losses in both MoM (by 28 percent) and YoY sales (by more than 40 percent).

Maruti Celerio

  • The Maruti Celerio and Maruti Ignis have also faced losses in both monthly and yearly sales in November 2023. The Celerio’s MoM and YoY sales went down by 49 percent and 11 percent, respectively. On the other hand, the Ignis faced losses of 30 percent and 67 percent in MoM and YoY sales, respectively. The Celerio’s sales crossed 2,000 units, while the Ignis has taken the last spot in the table and has not even crossed 2,000 unit sales.
