The is very streamlined, and may i suggest get the original spoiler fixed, it makes the car look awesome. An extra 14K. Very comfortable drive, even the leg space for the rear seats are good. The boot has sufficient space. Here i would like to add that VW Vento is a heavier car as compared to Honda and other Japanese cars. In fact all German cars are heavy- solid body. It can take a lot of beating. The pick up is a bit sluggish, but once it shifts to lower gear it becomes quite wild. It is my personal opinion that Vento is a shade under powered because of its weight factor. If you race it with VW Polo 1.6 ltr, you will certainly be humbled. The mileage factor which we all are concerned about is silly relative. If you are driving in city's like Delhi, Mumbai, Ludhiana, Jullunder etc, you will certainly not get 10 km because of dense traffic, however, if you are n places like Himachal, Bihar, Jharkand or wherever the traffic is less, you will get over 12 in city and on highways, one can easily get between 15-17 km. I like the joy stick (automatic), its very smooth. There is nothing extra ordinary about the vehicle. It needs to improve the pick up, besides adding a few controls including cruise control on the steering. The brakes are very good, but early morning they grunt a bit. The engine sounds needs to be reduced further. Overall a good vehicle, if you are into German technology. Its a no-nonsense car.

Hi Mr. Radhesh, This is to inform you that Volkswagen Vento Petrol gives mileage of 11.2 km/l in city conditions and 15.8 km/l on highways, where as Volkswagen Vento Diesel gives the mileage of 15.8 km/l in city conditions and 20.5 km/l on highways. Thanks

Hi CarDekho Team, I am very glad for you, if your vehicles are giving 11 km in city. As I mentioned earlier, it really depends in which city you are driving. I even got more than 12 km in Palampur city (HP), simply because the density of population and vehicles is far lower than Delhi and Punjab. Comparing the mileages of Petrol and Diesel is hardly fair. Diesel, anyday will give you better average. The cost is also higher than the Petrol version.

Dear User, This is in response to your reply, it is true that the mileage of a vehicle varies in different driving conditions. Thanks

@Cardekho team I think that mileage is true for the manual transmission, the automatic should return a lower value. In fact one reviewer (Bangalore) has given a value of 8km/l in the city and 12km/l on the highway for the manual transmission.

Yes, i m talking of the hi end Vento. A word of caution though, the dealers in Delhi think they are selling gold. Most unhelpful and zero after sales service. I speak from experience. The VW needs to pull up their dealers.

I have purchased this car in Jan'11. I am disappointed by the mileage I am getting which never increases more than 5km/lit. I have tried to verify this fact with other car owners in Mumbai . All are disappointed with the mileage of this car. Before purchasing the car I have checked the data on Volkswagen website and Car dekho website which says it is about 14.5 Km/lit. At the time my booking this car there were hardly any cars seen on the road , So I could not get feed back from the car owners. However I feel this car's exteriors are good but very very heavy on pocket to drive. H M BHATNAGAR
