Polo 1.6

Look and Style: Polo i think is one of the better looking hatchbacks in the market. For someone who likes understaded looks and decent styling this is the car. Comfort: Polo's seats are not the best and not the worst either. But they do their job and no wear you out on long rides. I did feel the neet for more lumbar support on long drives. I wish they had different seat color options. I am not a fan of Beige. But you can always go fro the aftermarket seats covers. Pickup: Being a 1.6L engine, there is a considerable refinement over the 1.2 siblings. The lack of torque compared to a diesel car makes you work the gears and thats fun for s0meone who likes doing that. I would rate the acceleration above average. Mileage: Suprisingly this 1.6 engine can give similar fuel economy as a 1.2L if the driver knows how to drive efficiently. It needs very little throttle input in the city driving conditions. I have gotten anywhere from 11-13kmpl under varying city driving conditions. On highway it really depends on how fast you are going. Doing 100-120 kph, you can get anywhere from 15-18 kmpl based on the grade in the road. (For someone who doesnt know, the modern FI engines are deisng to cut off fuel while in gear going at speed while there is no throttle input, if you can exploit this you will get decent mileage on any car) Best Features: Good engine, good ergonomics, decent build quality. Needs to improve: Sacrifice a little boot space for rear leg room. Not a issue for me as I drive alone 95% of the time. 1.2 TSI engine would be a good subsititue for the 1.6 for more economy. Black floor carpets and seats from factory. Steering controls and music system with USB/AUX/Bluetooth. Wont mind paying a little extra for the above mentioned features. Substandard rear suspension, need multilink to make it a better handler. Disc brakes in the back. The brakes are not very confidence inspiring. Overall Experience: Overall a nicely built, suprisingly economical every day commuter. I would not call this a hot hatch but it does have a lot better potential at being a hot hatch when compared with the other offerings in the market. Please keep in mind, my review is based solely on my experience and my opinion about the car.
