Extremely Expensive Parts, Service
My car's AC stopped working after 2-yrs and I was asked to pay 70k. I emailed the company many times but there was no response. They just don't care. You are left at the mercy of the service centre. I gathered information from the market that it was a common problem with the Jetta. Then, within a month, there was a coolant leakage and again I was at their mercy and had to pay 20k more. Also, each service costs 15k. It's a good car but keep extra cash for surprises later on as the company doesn't care about you but will keep charging you for something or the other.

At first I was planning to buy Volkswagen Diesel car but after hearing the comments online that once you buy the car they (the company) cares least if any problems arise in future and moreover you have to take it to their authorised service centre only. Spares will cost you a bomb. Finally chose the Hyundai Verna CRDI Diesel and it has aged 10 years now and trust me the engine is as good as new.
I'm in the market for a new car as a replacement. If these inputs are true (& I don't have any reason them to be otherwise), I may stay away from VW. It appears that for a conservative customer, Maruti Suzuki / Hyundai/Toyota remain the only choices.
I absolutely agree with you i have the same car for 3 years ut was just superb but then suspension 90 k / Ac 105 k / clutch 90 k . Last few days it is again giving starting problem i am just keeping my fingers crossed that it is not another blow . Like you said its a good car but be prepared for surprises anytime after two years
